hello.

i am a graphic designer and educator recently transplanted to delhi
from chicago.

armed with quite a useless undergrad degree in physics in 82, i started
off as a paste-up artist for an offset press... two years as as an
assistant editor in Orient Longman... three years as a senior
visualizer/art director in Artig (an associate company of O&M).
typography and design was the main reason i entered this field, and
discovered advertising was not the area to nurture such esoteric
passions!

succumbed to the grad school itch and found myself in mew york with
$500 and a 30-day Greyhound pass. after 6500 miles and visiting 19
grad programs across the US, i picked the School of the Art Institute
of Chicago (MFA 1990).

loved the city, the cold, Blues, motorcylcing in the midwest, the
food... also practiced design (Command Z Design) and did my part in
polluting young fertile minds with my 2-cents worth (on typography,
type-design, digital imaging & prepress, motion graphics and
interaction design) for the better part of 14 years as faculty at my
alma mater.

9 months-old in delhi and to hindi, i am now a design consultant... and
really miss teaching. very interested in teaching short workshops and
post-graduate advising in typography (for print and motion) and type
design for indian languages.
