Dear Ranjan, Poonam, Dinesh, Rashmi, Aseef and the rest of the newsgroup

The e-mail age, someone pointed out has been an unusual blessing, making
possible exchanges between souls near and far. While the opportunity to
express views does bring scattered ideas into temporary focus, its
efficacy in translating resonances (and divergence) into action, remains
suspect.

I was wondering what happened to the national design policy stirrings...I
recall on a visit to Delhi, a certain move by the director NCERT, to
rework curriculum for schools. While this effort had a certain political
intent of restoring the doings of the previous government, the sincerety
of certain members I met was unquestionable. One idea that formed the
basis of the discussions, was that curriculum development should be
decentralized, and tecahers at a district level should have a say in what
they taught.

I also remember, a workshop organized by NID in collaboration with the
British coumcil on design inputs at the school level- but do not know what
has transpired since.

Perhaps a get-together, not necessarily for some organized seminar, but in
a informally formal sense, perhaps at Elephant D. Pune would be an
opportunity to converse, agree and disagree- or just perhaps have a good
cup of tea-no news from Sudhir for a long while-
