The bane of Indian design is the absence of academic publishing and that
having published is not a criteria for the evaluation of faculty

There is no platform for faculty publishing and somehow it is not valued
in our Institutions and this is my analysis of the current situation. The
apathy towards publishing will hopefully change as we go forward. However
we are therefore sitting on a huge opportunity of unpublished material
which can be mobilised quite easily if we take the right decisions.
