Thanks for sharing your viewpoint! You are right.
What one means is to look at the issue from Gandhiji's stand point (as stated
in his quotation) and derive some lessons that are applicable in our context.
Actually, what we do in 'participatory design approach' is also a form of
democratization. It is intended to win acceptance from diverse people (users in
our context). There are lots of parallels. I meant it in a metaphorical sense.

If we see Gandhiji in us may be we will have righteous, pluralistic attitude

I wonder if Gandhi had encountered computers, he would have started a chip
satyagraha to serve the emotions of masses from capitalistic ideals and avoided
the pluralistic usability problems.
