Hi all,

(sorry my last mail got sent before i finished it)

So designindia is stepping into its 5th year, there are more than
5000 posts and more than 900 members.

I get a lot of advice on what could be done with designindia group.
I allso get a lot of feedback and i observe reactions to the group
all the time.

Below are a few facts.

1. Designindia has ruffled a lot of feathers over the years, it is
doing so more often now. I see a lot of disturbance because there
is voice. Designindia is being seen as a powerbase and that is
making a lot of people who are used to take decisions on our behalf
without asking, uncomfortable.

2.Designindia is not a body or a legal entity. It is just a thought
exchange mechanism.

3. Designindia has raised many uncomfortable issues..past posts will
tell you all and the recent truth (no great idea....)

4.I have been very strict with memberships 9we would have crossed
5000 by now)..and i have depended on a lot of you offline, on phone
for advice at times.

5. Yes there are more moderators to this group than just me. That is
just in case i lose my yahoo id.

6. I am serious about the Designindia to become more tangible
body..when we cross 1000 members.

7. Everybody reads Designindia..even if they dont write.

8. I have developed this confidence of meeting unknown designers and
visiting their offices, and i see them logged on to designindia.

9. Designers have this tendency of self critique, never to bond and
finding faults with everything.

10. There is more politics than design, where design should have
been. The reason why we are not organised and still orphans.

11. It doesnt take much to write.
