It nice to see the kind of offers to take on responsibility to make the
design with india meet really meaningful.

And Jags, your suggestion of segregating areas and putting them on offer is
one sensible way of doing it.

We are planning to meet on 16th to thrash out these details and then we will
post the same on the site
for whoever wants to pitch in. To enable us to segregate the events, your
list will help and we can detail that to start with.
In addition we need suggesstions on the 6 broad themes under which
discussions, speakers and workshops can happen.

One way of doing this is to break it up under questions : (below are a few
examples)
Anyone who has ideas for these 6 themes - please put them down. This will
help tremendously at the 16th meeting.

1. How should design talk to business - the Indian lessons so far.(we can
articulate the nuances of the lessons and make them cover some ground)

2. China,Korea,Taiwan are not India, so what does it mean to do Design with
India?

3. Design Houses in India think.......What?

4. Bottom of the Pyramid ...... A myth or reality?

5. The Indian Customer.....

6. With the kind of numbers we need to be sensitised to design, what are the
ways forward?

7. Making design work for India - different models that have worked and
failed.

Any other approach would be welcome.........

If you can spell out the details of the kind of support and work that
is needed sharing could be possible and it would be nice to segregate
areas where you want support..
(1) Invite of speakers
(2) Organising of the event
(3) Contacting sponsors
(4) Promotions and publicity
(5) activity , events and exposure
(6) Any other issues that relate to the event that will need support of
one and all
This could then lead to a team support..
If i am missing out anything Please add. Also a list of contacts of the
core group that will look into the organisation...
