Can anyone help with this question:

Some European colleagues have been asking me recently how designers
are recruited in India (either for design consultancies or for in-
house roles).

In Europe there are specialist recruitment consultancies for the
design sector who you can go to to find talent (designers,
artworkers, account handlers, consultants etc.) as well of course as
using online adverts on specialist websites like this.

What happens within India? The question is related to mid-career
people NOT fresh graduates straight from college.

I am British, and a recent speaker at the December 05 CII-NID Design
Summit in Mumbai. My background is in client side roles in the UK as
a Design Manager [Royal Mail/The British Post Office]. I have
contributed to most of the Design Management programmes available in
the UK, USA, Europe and also in India at NID and MICA [Mudra
Insitute of Communications, Ahmedabad), as well as at IIM/A.

I now split my time between India and London, working with
colleagues at the Aliagroup/DMA Branding in Mumbai. We are
developing a design management consultancy to help clients [Design
for Management] understand how to use design effectively; and with
design consultancies and in-house teams [Management for Design] to
develop their client offer to grow thier enterprise; both offers are
based upon a foundation of implementation services for effective
project management of design solutions.
