But the fact remains true as pointed out by Siddharth: The recruitment
agencies in India are not aware enough of the portfolio designers
carry.Mostof the recruitment either happens through personal contacts
or through the
recent trend to post in online group mails.
Perhaps the reason can be contributed to the fact that the need/demand from
the industry is missing or not clearly visible. Having put up my portfolio
on the net since college days, i've also noticed that i get enquiries from
manpower consultants abroad, more often than not and sadly: looking for
cheap Indian design labour. A sign of things to come eh? perhaps outsourcing
is knocking :-)
