For God's sake stop this chain of argument and counter arguments.
Meditate and find the answer within yourselves.
I am a Muslim married to a Hindu and living happily.
I find it funny that "religious sentiments" cause violence... how can it be
religious and violent?
I don't know why Rushdie wrote Satanic Verses or Hussain Painted nudes... but
surely I would love to have a nude of mine painted by him :)
I'll get my Roti, Kapda & Makaan with one nude :)

If Husain abets hatred, those supporting him do what?*

See the photos of the paintings appearing in the frame alongside. Those on
the right side of the frame demonstrate how M F Husain revers the Hindu Gods
and Goddesses through his art.
* A naked Sita is sitting on the tail of the Brahmachari Hanuman with her
legs spread on both sides of the tail and she holding the tail close to her
breast
* A naked Hanuman sitting in meditation with his private part in erection,
and naked Sita held by some one naked from behind
* Naked Parvati mixed up with Nandi, with Shiva watching
* Shiva and Parvati with Shiva holding her breast
* Ganga and Yamuna both naked
* Goddess Durga sitting naked on the on
* Bharat Mata, revered by all, is also naked
In his artistic undertakings he has disrobed and shamed every deity which
millions and millions of Hindus worship. When the believers hurt by such
vandalization of their feelings in the name of art protested, they were
branded as vandals by the secular media and intellectuals. The defenders of
Husain say that this is all part of the freedom of art. Thousands of emails
circulated said why not Husain demonstrate such spirit of freedom when he
paints himself or his family members to know how his art hurts. Obviously
the artist seems to reserve the pain for others, the Hindu faithfuls only.
A random browsing of his paintings of himself and his family members from
which some paintings have been selected on the left side of the frame showed
that he has painted his mother fully clothed and sitting in the most
respectful position.
He has painted himself with his *kurta* and pyjama and not how he would have
been without them.
A browsing will also show that he has painted many Islamic personalities in
the most respectable dress, including Fatima, Galib and his own daughter.
So the pattern is clear. Only Gods and Goddesses who the Hindus revere have
been subjected to this shameful art. This does not seem to be just
perversion. It seems to be rather intentional if the contrast is seen. The
other personalities of other faiths including, for instance Mother Teresa,
are treated with great reverence.
Is that why Justice Kapur of Delhi High Court wrote in his judgment why not
Mr Husain try his hand at such artistic adventures with the personalities
associated with other faiths?
Is that why the judge said that this kind of provocative art could lead to
communal rift? If Husain could single out Hindu Gods and Goddesses for
shameful treatment in his canvas and treats other religious figures with
reverence in his art, he is only promoting communal hatred and not art. If
Husain is promoting hatred between the faith to which he belongs and the
Hindu faithfuls, what are those supporting him doing?
