Guys, when you want to see the nature of things, please just follow the
scent of the money involved.

Someone is making a huge bundle of money by manipulating the jingoistic
attribute of Indians. Make no mistake - they are running exactly the same
media blitz in countries that have other wonders.

Pretty good idea - huge amount of money to be made by getting people to vote
by sms, by invoking their national pride. Make it seem like the common man
gets to save the honor of his nation.

Duh...don't pee on my leg and tell me its raining.

What amazes me is when nobody seems to see the commerce behind this, nobody
questions "what is the validity of this ranking?", nobody wonders "who is
putting money into all this advertising and why"?

Its like, the moment our national pride is invoked, our minds blank out and
we become headless zombies, chanting "mera bharat mahaan...mera bharat
mahaan", willing to be manipulated by anyone who presses the right buttons.
Even on a forum of designers, who are supposed to be more aware of things...
