the whole idea of going Green and Environmental-friendly is two-faced as
most of the policies from west are anyways....but i have understood the
following things :

1. Innovate or be Rich - Two choices :: it is a time when all the patents
are almost gone, i.e., the companies in west have to innovate/invent new
things to earn more patent money. the best thing would be an alternative
fuel and the machines that work on it. but there are other methods too.
push the world to take on the green power and they know that the developing
countries will have to buy these equipments from the developed world,
making west rich, ultimately. i remember in one of the posts.....why the
people who own 2 cars are interested in making decisions for people with no
cars ? the same, why the west is still using fossil fuel if they preach of
Green and Environmental-friendlyness. this means that, nobody means what
they preach. i believe, TATA has done a great job by achieving this car
before anybody else did otherwise indians will be again paying the extra
cost to the western manufacturers which amounts due to huge patents. who
knows, considering the emission levels of Nano, it might become the Entry to
the green cars of the new era....TATAs might change it to a much efficient
fuel someday....it is just the beginning, and i am happy that the first
phase is done by an Indian company.

2. Infrastructure :: considering the tightening IT laws of india, the huge
middle class of indian cities does pay IT regularly. where does that money
go ? shouldnt the government be held responsible for bad infrastructure and
short-sighted ness ? one thing for sure Nano will do is , challenge the
Indian government and make them improve infrastructure at a faster pace. if
somebody says it cannot be done then you have to visit China to believe it.
i am living in Beijing and its infra can actually give competition to infra
of the best of the cities in the world.
