In rendering service, one should have no thought of one’s self. One should
only consider how well one can render the service as an offering to the Divine.
One should note the difference between Karma (action) and Karma Yoga (action as
spiritual discipline). Ordinary activity is motivated by self interest or the
desire to achieve some objective. In Karma Yoga, the action is desireless.
Ordinary Karma is the cause of birth, death and rebirth, whereas Karma Yoga
leads to freedom from birth. You should regard all service as a form of Karma
Yoga - rendering service without any expectation of reward, and without even the
feeling that one is serving others. Any service done to anyone is actually
service to the Divine.

The True Spirit of Dasara

The celebration of Dasara in the Divine Presence of Bhagavan Baba every year is
unique as it is accompanied by a week-long sacred yagna (sacrifice). Even more
significant is the fact Bhagavan often speaks on many occasions during this
celebration revealing many salient spiritual truths. One such discourse was
delivered on October 6, 1992, on the last day of the celebration, called Vijaya
Dasami Day. Here is an extract from that profound message. Let us recapitulate
these words of Bhagavan as we rejoice in the Dasara celebrations of this year
which starts from the 3 rd of this month.

All things in the cosmos are limbs of the body of Vishnu (God). Hence, no one
should have any aversion to anything in the universe. You should not hate
anyone, because the same Divine is present in you and in everything in the
universe.

The cosmos has three forms: the gross, the subtle and the causal. The physical
universe represents the gross form. The subtle form is the mind, and subtler
than the mind is the Atma.
The Five Kosas or Inner Coverings of Man

A human being has five sheaths (koshas)

A human being has five sheaths. These five sheaths have been grouped into three.
The gross sheath is the Annamaya Kosa (the food sheath). The three Kosas,
Praanamaya (vital breath), Manomaya (the mental sheath) and the Vijnanamaya (the
intellectual sheath) together constitute the subtle sheath.

The causal sheath is the Anandamaya Kosa (the Bliss sheath). Even the last
sheath does not represent total bliss, because there is a higher entity above
the Anandamaya Kosa. This is known as Mahakaarana or supracausal entity. This is
the atmic principle.

Every human being has these Tripuras (three cities). The three puras (cities)
are the body, the mind and the heart. Because every individual has these three,
he/she is called Tripurasundari (endowed with the beauty of the three worlds).
Since the Prakruthi (Nature) element, which is feminine in nature, is present in
greater measure in the body, it is termed as Sundari (a beautiful lady).

The Spiritual Truth of Dasara Festival

During the Navarathri (also called as Dasara) festival, Tripurasundari (Goddess)
is worshipped. Unfortunately, from ancient times people have been observing only
the external forms of worship without understanding the inner significance of
these festivals. The entire cosmos is a temple; the Lord pervades the cosmos.

Prakruthi (Nature) teaches the spiritual truth about Navarathri. The Lord has to
be realised through sadhana (spiritual practice). Sadhana does not mean adoring
God in a particular place or form. It means thinking of God in all that you do
wherever you may be. One may ask if this is possible. And the answer is that it
is possible by dedicating every action to God.

During the Navarathri festival, there is a form of worship called Angaarpana
Puja. In this form of worship, all the limbs of the body are offered to the
Divine in a spirit of surrender (Sharanaagathi). Surrender means offering
everything to the Divine and giving up the idea of separation between oneself
and the Divine. There can be no true surrender if there is a sense of
separation. There must be the conviction that it is the same Divine who dwells
in all beings -Eko Vasee Sarvabhutha-antharaathma.

The True Meaning of Angaarpana Puja

In the performance of Angaarpana Puja, there is a form of self-deception. When a
devotee says, "Nethram Samarpayaami" (I offer my eyes to the Lord) and offers
only a flower to the Lord, he is indulging in a kind of deception. The proper
way would be to say that he is offering a flower.

Actually, manthras (verses) like "Nethram Samarpayaami" are intended to indicate
that one is using his eyes only to see God. The real significance of the Manthra
is that you think of the divine in whatever you see or do.

Therefore, the true meaning of the Angaarpana Puja is to declare that you offer
all your limbs in the service of the Lord. This means that whatever work you do
should be done as an offering to God.

Nowadays, selfishness is rampant among devotees and they love God not for God's
sake, but only to get their selfish desires fulfilled. As long as selfishness
prevails, the Divine cannot be understood.

The Navarathri festival should be used as an occasion to examine one's own
nature, whether it is human, animal or demonic, and strive to transform the
animal nature to the human, and divinize the human nature. Wisdom cannot be
acquired from outside. It has to be won through inward Sadhana.

1. In our: ‘Conversations With Sai: Satyopanishad - June 2009’ issue, we
shared Prof. Anil Kumar’s talk with Swami on His view-point on the three
schools of Vedanta philosophy.

Prof. Anil Kumar: “Swami, do you view that the three schools of Vedanta
philosophy like dualism, dvaita, qualified non-dualism, visistadvaita and
non-dualism, advaita as contradictory to one another? Does one school advocate
just the opposite of what the other says?”
Bhagavan: “This is how it is usually understood and practiced by many. But,
truly speaking it is not so. In fact, these three are integrated. You find one
as being the continuation of the other. You will notice that one leads to the
other.”

To explain with an illustration, Swami then gave the example of sugarcane and
the three stages of obtaining sugar from its juice. Which of these is the state
is non-dualism?
  A. The separation of pulp from the sugarcane
  B. The sugar
  C. The juice
  D. The pulp and juice
 

2.In our article: ‘Conversations With Sai: Satyopanishad - August 2009’
issue, Prof. Anil Kumar asked another question which was internally related to
dualism and non-dualism.

Prof. Anil Kumar: “Swami! Kindly let us know the difference between devotion
and surrender.”

While explaining the difference, Swami said that surrender is the state of
non-dualism, because once we surrender………?
  A. We have no interest in the rewards of our actions anymore
  B. We accept everything as His Grace
  C. We do not exist for our self any longer
  D. Our minds are only focused on God
 

3.In our: ‘Conversations with Sai -Feb 2006’ issue, Dr. Hislop asked Swami a
question on non-dualism thus:

H: “When Swami is present, His form is easily seen and may be worshipped, but
when Swami's physical person is absent, should one form a mental image of Him so
that one may continue to see His form?”

SAI: “Yes. One should have a mental image of a form of God, fully developed,
with one’s mind poured into that form.”

According to Swami, when does the mental image of a form of God help us reach
the state of non-dualism?
  A .. When the image of God is seen outside the mind
  B. When the mental image is seen in the mind
  C.When the form is captured in the heart
  D. When the form is absorbed in the soul
 

4In our: ‘Getting Spiritually Better: An Interim Summary - Aug 15th 2004’
issue, we presented an article on non-dualism with an example:

‘99.9999% of humans feel, like most of us do, that God and ourselves are
distinct and separate. No serious harm in this; indeed, this state of dualism is
the starting point of the journey to God.

Let us start with a simple example. There is a small girl, and she wants to make
a cake for her mother on her mother’s birthday. The little girl says,
“Mummy, I love you very much. Therefore, I want to make a cake for your
birthday.” The mother says, “How sweet of you my dear! Sure, go ahead.”
But the little girl does not know how to make and bake a cake, and the mother
ends up making the cake. At the same time, the mother takes care to make the
child feel that she is the one making the cake. When the cake is ready, the
child says, “Mummy, here is the cake I made for you”, and sings Happy
Birthday! The mother is so pleased, and she does not remember that it was
actually she who made the cake!

This made up story, probably enacted many times in many homes, is indicative of
man’s loving relationship with God, or rather the way it ought to be (when one
is wrapped up in dualism).

Everything that we claim as ours actually belongs to God. Our talent, for
example.’

What did we share about how a sensible person, or one who has God-gifted
talents, can learn from this story and change his state of duality into one of
non-duality?
  A. By always passing on our talents to kids
  B. By never forgetting God
  C. By donating all the money earned from our services to society
  D By focusing on learning more to expand our talents to earn more Grace

There is no need to retire into a forest or a cave to know your inner Truth and
to conquer your lower nature. In fact, while living in isolation, one has no
chance to exercise restraint on one's anger and other weaknesses and so the
victory achieved there may not be long lasting or genuine. Win the battle of
life; be in the world but yet be away from its shackles. That is the victory
which you have to achieve.

It is best that you imprint on your heart the dual nature of the world that is a
mixture of pleasure and pain, joy and grief, victory and defeat. Practice the
constant presence of God and learn to offer all your activities at the feet of
the Lord as an act of worship. Then they will be cleansed of all faults. Life
sustained by food is short; life sustained by Atma is eternal. Do not lay claim
to long life, but to divine life. Do not strive for more years of stay on the
earth, but for more virtues in the heart.

"Three Seconds Flat!"

The Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, Prasanthi Nilayam is the first institution
established by Bhagavan Baba way back in 1954 to come to the rescue of poor and
innocent villagers of Puttaparthi, as well as the increasing number of devotees
to Prasanthi Nilayam. Everything about this hospital has been a divine miracle,
right from the fact that it was constructed just 6 years after Indian
independence and had just two doctors and a single nurse to start with, to now,
when there are over hundred beds and scores of doctors and surgeons. The greater
miracle is of course the amazing healing that happens in this hospital every
single day. It baffles the doctors. The patients, needless to say, have no words
to express their gratitude.

Mrs. Devika Gunasena recounts her traumatic experience

I am Devika from Sri Lanka. It all started on May 18, 2009; it was a Monday. I
went shopping in Sri Lanka with one of my friends for a particular Sai work. On
the way I ate a guava.

By evening, I was down with stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhea. I was
scheduled to travel to India to see Swami on Thursday and I wanted to get rid of
all this and be fit before I travel. So I went to the doctor and was given
medicines but they didn’t improve my condition; it just got worse.

A Tortuous Journey

As time went on, my stomach started swelling up and I still had terrible
contractions with a lot of pain. I took the flight on Thursday with my husband
and son and throughout the journey I just consumed a little bit of lime juice
and no other food. There was a taxi waiting for us and I came to Puttaparthi. I
felt every bump on the road because my stomach was so swollen. It was a terrible
pain and I cannot express in words the trauma I went through.
We entered Puttaparthi ashram and found our room. My husband said, “Let’s go
to the Hospital”. I said, “No, we will go in the morning because the doctors
wouldn’t be there in this late hour.” That night, Swami came in my dream. My
husband and my son were sleeping on either side of me. I have this history of
strangulation of the bowels, and once when we had an interview with Swami, my
mother who was very worried about me, had asked Swami about this problem and He
had said, “It’s gastric.” And whenever I used to have this kind of pain,
it always used to be gastric – something like gastroenteritis.

Fast Track Clearance

  "I can clear it in three seconds flat!"

I knew that there was something radically wrong with me that night. So I had a
talk with Swami. I said, “Swami! You gave word to my mother! Why are You
breaking it?” And I drifted off to sleep. In the night, Swami appeared in my
dream and said: “You have an obstruction; but I can clear it in three seconds
flat!”
I didn’t know what He meant but those were the very words that He used. So I
thought everything would be fine in the morning. But it wasn’t. I was still
bloated up and the pain was worse! I was thinking: ‘Oh my God! Swami! What is
this? You came in my dream and told me that You will take care of it and how
come I am still having this pain?’

I sent my family off for Darshan and told them I will be okay, but I was so
sick! I just brought out everything that I had taken in. Nothing was going
through! There was some block somewhere and so, I just threw up anything I ate.

After my husband and son returned from darshan, I was ready to be taken to the
Hospital. I said: “Let’s go, I just can’t bear this anymore.” There were
very kind people nearby who arranged for the ambulance to come to the doorstep
and I was admitted to the Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital.

Into the Divine Care of Sai Hospital

Dr. Uma saw me and I had to relate my history of this strangulation problem
because there were scars all over my stomach! She confirmed what Swami had
already said: “There is an obstruction which is why food is not passing
through and that’s why you are simply bringing it out. There are three options
now. You can either fly back to Sri Lanka immediately, or go to a premier
hospital in Bangalore, or we can keep you here and try to flush it out with just
liquids.” She wanted my family to make the decision. They said: “We will
keep her here.”

So I was just brought into this room and given this bed. And what do I see? You
won’t believe it! This is the exact picture; the image that I saw in my dream!
It was as if Swami was there by me all the time! It was amazing.! Then they
started the treatment. They gave me bottles and bottles of saline but the
obstruction just didn’t clear. Then, on Friday morning, the two doctors went
for Darshan and after they returned, they examined and said: “I think you will
have to be moved to the Bangalore Hospital because your intestines are dormant;
they are just too tired and have just given up. I don’t think they can do the
work on their own of pushing and getting rid of the obstruction.”

That was just hell for me because now the condition was getting worse; the pain
was severe and my stomach was just bloating out. They said they would prepare me
for the three-hour journey to Bangalore and then inserted a tube through my nose
which was just agony. I have had it twice before which is a procedure to take
the gases out. I had sworn before that I would never go through that again but I
here I was undergoing it again. It was sheer anguish! I can’t tell you in
words.

Anyway, they started pumping out the gas but it didn’t help much. Then, they
gave me some more bottles of saline. They were pumping it fast and preparing me
for the journey and asked my family to make arrangements for a taxi to rush me
to Bangalore. But my husband was adamant. He wanted to stay for darshan to ask
Swami. But Dr. Uma said: “It might be too late! Why are you delaying? It might
be 10:30 p.m by the time you reach there and the doctors may not be available
then”. But my husband was unyielding. They made all the arrangements and they
came just before Darshan to tell me that everything had been organised.

Inexplicable Relief at the Ultimate Moment

Just before they were about to return from Darshan, I had a sensation in my
stomach and therefore visited the bathroom. And everything was cleared! It would
have taken Swami just three seconds as He had told me, and His words came true!
The two doctors came and I said: “I just went to the toilet and it’s
fine.”

They said: “My goodness! Cancel your taxi. Put back everything because you are
going to stay here.” At this point, my husband and son walked in and heard
these words. They had prayed to Ganesha and their favourite Gods, and the moment
they stepped into my room the doctors told them that Swami had done it!

Dr. Uma said, “You know, Swami waits for the eleventh hour and the 59th second
to do it!” Which is true. And it’s marvelous! I am perfectly alright, thanks
to Swami. And I thank Him from the bottom of my heart. Also I must mention that
the care and the attention I received in this Hospital was absolutely wonderful.
I don’t think I can get it anywhere. Even if I go to any other hospital in the
world, I don’t think I can receive the treatment I did here. The attention and
the care they have given me is unbelievable – it’s absolutely unbelievable!
The doctors, Dr. Uma and Dr. Hema, have been so wonderful. I have no words to
express my gratitude for what they have done for me.

Man is mortal and the Divine is immortal. In the mortal human being, there is
the immortal Divine Spirit. In the field of the heart, there is a Kalpatharu
(wish-fulfilling tree). The tree is surrounded by bushes and briars. When these
are removed, the tree will become visible. This wish-fulfilling tree is within
each person, but it is encompassed by the bad qualities in man. When these
qualities are eliminated, the celestial tree will be recognised. This is the
Sadhana (spiritual exercise) that each one has to perform. This is not the quest
for something new. It is to experience what is yours. The entire cosmos is
within you.

The world is made up of objects. It is inert. In the waking sense, the senses
cognise all these objects. But the senses are also inert. The eyes that see, the
ears that hear, the tongue that speaks and the nose that smells - all of them
are Jada (inert). In fact, the entire body is inert. But all these inert objects
are able to function because of the presence of Chaitanya (consciousness) in the
mind. Thus we have to realise that the entire phenomenal universe is Jada.

Our young people today are starving for a deeper sense of who they
really are and for their reason to be here and as a teacher of the
occult it is my duty to create a climate of hope and expectancy for the
return of the World Teacher who will flood this world with unbelievable
cosmic energy that will galvanize many into some sort of spiritual
service to their fellow man and this energy is very powerful and is
manifesting through out the world at this very time to produce a
profound change in all areas of human endeavor.Maitreya will as well be
the one who will introduce to the world the fact of the space brothers
who as well have been watching over the human evolution for m  We all
shall witness an event that will bring tears of joy to the masses of all
humanity in a very short period of time. The time has come when the

The Masters of Wisdom are now beginning to take their places all over
the world. We now have a Master in New York and one in L.A, Paris, two
in England, Geneva, Darjeeling, and Tokyo along with a few other places
around the world which I can not as yet reveal. The time is coming when
they will reveal themselves to the world of men some time in the next
few years or so and they all work with the ray energy that they embody
whether that be along the first ray of will and power, the second ray of
love wisdom, the third ray of active intelegence, the fourth ray of
harmony through conflict, the fifth ray of abstract idealism and
devotion, and then the seventh ray that governs the relationship between
spirit and matter.                                               We all
have these rays that influence the way we see life around us all and for
the advanced initiate works with these ray energies for the service of
mankind. We have at this time the seventh ray coming into incarnation at
this time and with it a whole host of seventh ray egos who are now
coming into incarnation at this time.
With this ray will as well influence many to investigate the occult and
the old ways of magic and ceremonial order .Many unconscious magicians
are as well coming into incarnation who have not incarnated since the
Atlantean times and many of them have a long way to go before they can
intelligently use their powers for the betterment of all humanity and as
well have much rounding out to do while they come into incarnation over
a series of lives .Most of them are astral magicians of both the lower
and higher types of which there are many. It is very rare however to
find a magician working on the higher mental planes due to the fact that
the greater bulk of humanity are polarized on the astral-emotional
planes and will be for a very long time to come. The evolution of the
mental body will take much longer than did the astral �emotional
body and will cover two rounds to develop whereas the development of the
astral-emotional body took only one root race to develop, thus with the
development of mind in man he has been given the name the `Sons of
Mind' and is only just beginning to develop this aspect of himself
and so has a very long ways to tread before the higher mental aspects
can be develop and unfolded just like a lotus within the blaze of a
shining sun.
As an astral sensitive I am very well aware of the fact that there
hovers over the entire human race a dark lurid cloud of some of the most
ugly colors man has ever seen before that is now hovering over the
entire human and planetary aura which must be dissipated before we can
make further progress in our evolution into the light of pure reason and
brotherhood .This great and evil cloud must be dissipated before we can
clear the way for the future generations to come. There are a growing
body of light workers out there who are dong the work of dissolving this
thought form and are preparing all humanity for the day of declaration
when Maitreya will reveal himself to the world and who in turn will
introduce to the world the fact that we have been monitored for
countless thousands of years by what we may call the space brothers who
are from the near by planets such as Mars and Venus.
They inhabit these planets in etheric plane matter and if we had etheric
vision then we would see their world and kind. Man will in this coming
time develop etheric vision in this new age that is now on the horizon
.Etheric vision will enable us to see all kinds of very strange things
such as the etheric planets and stars and so on. All in all there is
much more to this world than what meets the eye and it is just amazing
that the portion that we all see with our eyes out in space is less than
what there is on the etheric planes. There are even whole star systems
that are in etheric matter and when we all develop etheric vision we
will see the sky speckled with millions of more stars than we are now
seeing at this time. There have been reports all over the world at this
time of massive UFO activity and one of these types of craft that are
often seen are the triangle shaped ones that are seen all over the
world. These craft are from Mars and have their polarization on the
etheric planes and when they come into our range of vision they are
simply lowering the vibration of their craft lower until the rhythm is
heavy enough to precipitate onto the physical planes then they can raise
the vibration until it is no longer visible to our limited vision and
they seem to disappear instantly. At the head of our spiritual hierarchy
is the Lord Maitreya and soon after he has declared himself to the world
he will then introduce us all to our space brothers and the fact that
some of them have been working within the United Nations for years and
as well as other humanitarian organizations through out our world.
There are so many ridicules ideas that some people say that they have
been abducted by some nasty space aliens who do all kinds of silly
experiments on people, this is nothing but an astral dream but of course
seems very real for the person experiencing it but it is nothing but a
waking dream. The space brothers have no reason to abduct us at all and
to be probing us and all of that nonsense for they already know
everything about us already and have been with the spiritual hierarchy
watching over our evolution for millions of years .The United Nations
have been sponsoring the work of Share International for a very long

reaching towards the ever shining sun and to become some thing beyond
our imagination. We are soon to see the reconstruction of the great
mystery schools where Maitreya will be the initiator at the first two
initiations.
There are at this time about 800,000 thousand human beings who have
taken the first initiation and by the year 2025 they will be here in
their millions and will have a hand at the reconstruction of our world
and the coming in of a new civilization that will be based on love,
sharing., and justice for all human beings and a chance for all to one
day shine and to become some body and to make an impact in our world as
well as to live a creative life of joy and colors that will make a great
contribution to the coming new age and we all have are parts to play in
this coming time. As more advanced souls come into incarnation we will
come out of this spiritual Dark Age and a new race of men will walk the
earth and in time all lesser races will die out to give room for the
coming new and higher species of men to flourish upon the earth and all
of the forces of nature will be concentrated in this new and higher type
of humanity. The cradle for this coming new race is right here in North
America which is at this time the nucleus of a type of humanity such as
never seen before.
Those who are ready to enter the super human race will come forward to
take the first initiation and to thus release our divine potential as
souls which will flower forth into some thing of rare beauty. We are all
on our way to becoming something more than we could ever imagine and
will be treading the path towards becoming Masters of Wisdom and to thus
wind up our affairs here on planet earth and to prepare to tread the
path of the higher evolution which are made up of seven paths that are
beyond our comprehension and understanding as divine beings.
Within all of us are the seeds of greatness that will someday manifest
themselves right here on planet earth and thus recreating our world into
a civilization where no one will have to starve in a world of plenty.
The third nations of our world must be educated and trained to take care
of themselves for they have much to offer to the new age through all of
the suffering they have been going through, for it is through suffering
that produces the highest type of artist. When Maitreya comes forward he
will invite a whole host of developed nations of the world to give what
they already have in excess to those who are in need, and if all nations
would co-operate with this proposed idea of Maitreya then we will have a
great measure of peace in our world and all will have the basics of life
such as education, shelter, health care and a chance to really become
somebody and to have their share of what they truly deserve .
Maitreya has said himself to `Take your brothers need as the measure
of your action and solve the problems of the world'. A much better
world lies ahead of us all if we only learn to share the resources of
this planet with all of the nations of the world, for this is the nature
of the soul as it comes into incarnation time after time and to learn
the laws of right human relationships with each other and with oneself
while we make our journey through life as it is with it's sufferings
and as well as its joy. The amount of suffering on our world is so
intense that it has been called the star of suffering and those who
wrestle their way out and become Masters are known as the graduates of
painful endeavourer. No where else do we have this amount of suffering
on any other world within our chain of worlds as we do on this planet.
Mother Earth is going through the birth pangs of giving birth to a new
and higher type of man who will have dominion over the entire planet and
over all things that live therein .North America must wake up and
realize it's destiny as divine beings and take dominion over all
things as the God he is .For the first time in all history we are seeing
the coming together of peoples of all kinds merging together right here
in North America which will one day become a new and higher type of
human species and North America is that cradle in which very highly
evolved men shall spring forth and take dominion over the entire races
of men all over the world and so galvanize people all over the world
into spiritual activity of some kind and to learn the art of self
awareness which will give way for man to over come their limitations
that bind him to the physical planes.
There are at this time many advanced souls who can leave their body at
will and to thus work on the astral planes of our world such as being a
guide for those who are afraid of the light out of some kind of very
deep inbred fear of judgment such as guilt and fear. I will listen to
their long life story with empathy and will encourage them to enter the
light and there meet their loved ones who have for perhaps thousands of
years been waiting for him to enter the light of the `summer land
`and to enjoy resting and as well as digesting that which they have
learned through out their past incarnations before once again taking
incarnation into this world once again.
Many of these poor souls are in some very dark places for sometimes
thousands of years, but time and the mercy of evolution will in time
awaken them up to this self made hell in which they have created for
themselves and to thus free themselves and to enter into the `summer
land' where all will be seen and known and as well as the reason for
them to be alive and taking incarnations time after time. When the time
is right and when we are ready we are to see the construction of the
various Mystery schools restored on the ancient land marks where they
have been during the fourth root race and with the appearance of the
World Teacher Maitreya there will be many millions who will be ready to
take the first initiation into the kingdom of souls and to thus become
as beacons of light for all who are now walking in the dark.Maitreya is
the initiator at the first two initiations which prepare us to take that
first step into true divinity. To the ageless wisdom teachings it is
said that the third initiation is the first true initiation because it
is when man truly become in touch with that aspect of himself that is
the eternal spark of God also known as the divine monad which is as well
the divine watcher over the inner soul of man as he comes into
incarnation from the past and into the future.
There are at this time about 4000 initiates of the third initiation now
in the world and more are to come into incarnation as we move into the
new age. As the spiritual evolution of mankind moves on we will, in time
begin to see a light divine beginning to engulf the entire world. One
day our world will blaze forth in all of its glory as more of the sons
of men take the first initiation and to become as living lights as they
tread the path of initiation. Very soon now we all shall see the face of
Maitreya as he will mentally overshadow all of man kind and all of the
peoples of the world will hear and understand what he is saying to us
all .All of the developed nations of the world will give what they can
so that the third world nations can be educated in the art of living and
to no longer have to starve in a world of plenty.

parts. When each one performs his duty, the benefits are available to all. Man
is entitled only to perform his duties and not to the fruits thereof. Man is a
kind of stage-director of what goes on in Nature. But forgetting his
responsibilities, man fights for rights. It is foolish to fight for rights
without discharging one's duties. All the chaos and conflicts in the world are

Faith can grow only by long cultivation and careful attention. Have faith; faith
will grant you all that you need. There is not task that I cannot accomplish.
You have faith in Lord Rama and Krishna, since you have read books written about
them. You have not demanded direct proofs of Divinity from them. Have you? Have
faith first, then you will get proof enough. Take up the discipline of the
recital of the Name. Why drag out your existence as a mere consumer of food?
Eat, but transform food into good deeds, good thoughts, sweet speech. Move, but

To a spiritual aspirant, He is the divine master par excellence; to a
rationalist, He is the greatest humanitarian on earth; to thousands of modern
youth, He is the leader with a dynamic vision and a colossus of inspiration; to
a devotee, He is simply divinity in human form; and to everyone who has had the
opportunity to behold Him, He is Pure Love Walking on Two Feet.

Ask Bhagavan Baba, “Are you God?” And He says:

“Yes, I am God and so are you.  The only difference between you and I is that
while I am aware of this fact, you are not.”
And this is no casual remark. Indeed, inherent in this small, but extremely
significant statement, is the fundamental truth of humanity’s divine nature -
its true reality; and revivifying the heart of every human being to this salient
truth is the mission and message of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Very aptly,
Baba begins His every discourse, addressing the gathering as, “Embodiments of
the Divine Atma”.

All who listen to Him, experience His unconditional love, benefit from His
caring counsel and witness His supernormal supremacy over mind and matter, get a
real glimpse of the glory and majesty of God, and therefore, of the infinity
that each human potentially and inherently is.

People imagine that spirituality means meditating on God, bathing in sacred
waters and visiting holy shrines, but this is not the correct meaning of
spirituality. Spirituality means destroying the animal nature in man and
awakening him to his divine consciousness. Spirituality implies recognizing that
one's manifold capacities emanate from the Spirit and not from the mind, then
utilizing them for achieving spiritual strength. It means acknowledging that all
powers come from the Divine.

It is only God, the embodiment of love, who is always with you and in you.
Bereft of love, man cannot exist. Love is your life. Love is the light that
dispels the darkness of ignorance. One who does not cultivate love will be born
again and again. Punarapi Jananam Punarapi Maranam. Whoever is born will die one
day and whoever dies will be born again. Birth and death are the Prabhava
(effect) of the objective world. As he is deluded by the Prabhava, man is
subjecting himself to Pramada (danger).

The only truth?

I and the Father are one. I am in My Father and you are in Me and I am in you.
(Jesus - John 10:30 ; 14:20

The truly humble will be elevated says Jesus Christ.

Jesus once told a parable to His people who ranked their goodness high and
despised the others. This is true of a story about a Pharisee and a tax
collector. The two went up to a temple to offer prayers to the Lord. The
Pharisee stood aside and prayed thus , "I thank you God that I am not greedy,
dishonest, or an adulterer like everybody else. I thank you that I am unlike the
tax collector over there. I keep a fast twice a week and I donate one tenth of
my earnings"

The tax collector on the other hand did not even once raise his face to heaven,
but beat himself on his breast and said, "God have pity on me, a sinner"

Jesus thus enlightened saying that the tax collector was actually justified
before God than the Pharisee.

"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before
God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself
will be exalted."

(Luke 18 : 14 )

Thus the truly humble are the ones who will be favoured by God .

What is Mano-Nigraham (control of the mind)? Nigraham (control) really means
being indifferent to the vagaries of the mind. It is difficult to control the
mind, just as it is difficult to confine air in one's grasp. How can anyone
control the mind which is all-pervading in the vastness of its range and
comprehension? When it is realised that the mind is made up of thoughts and
doubts, the elimination of the thoughts is the means of restraining the mind.
Thoughts are associated with desires. As long as desires remain, one cannot have
Vairagya (detachment). It is necessary to limit desires. When there is no
restraint, excessive desire becomes an evil. It leads to misery. When we strive
to control desire, in due course, it develops into Vairagya (non-attachment or
renunciation).

As an occultist it is my understanding that these so-called shadow
people are nothing more than a sort of echo left behind and imprinted
upon the astral light of our surroundings.The shadow people are no more
than shades who are the left overs from the past and are soulless, as
the real soul ,or the divine principle  had fled long ago leaving a
trace of itself imprinted upon natures memory in the form of an echo and
by these soulless shades that may wonder for a long time ,but eventually
are dissipated as the years go by while the human soul rests in what
many call the  ''Summer Land'' where the soul rests between incarnations
to digest what it has learned from its last incarnations until the time
comes along when the soul must return back into incarnation and continue
where it left  off during its last incarnation.

Please accept our humble dandavat pranamas.
 
In the present age of science and technology we have significantly advanced in
climate research, materials science, astrophysics and supercomputers. Advanced
medical research is providing much improved healthcare facilities for humanity.
In spite of such vast advancements it seems that we have neglected the studies
on the most important topic such as ‘what is life’. We are now claiming in
modern science that we are so advanced in the principle of mechanics, but we see
that the living bodies violate the laws of mechanics. There is no equation in
the mechanics which can help us predict the motion of a living being. For
example, using the laws of mechanics we can easily predict the motion of the
body of a dead bird, but we have no law to predict the motion of a live bird.
This is because living bird has a free will and thus it can go anywhere
according to it's own choice. Living bodies violate all the existing theory and
laws in modern science. Modern
  science can only study and predict the motion of dead objects and not living
beings. However, people in general are not aware of this helpless condition of
present scientific approach.
 
 
Using the laws of mechanics we can easily predict the motion of the body of a
dead bird, but we have no law to predict the motion of a live bird. This is
because living bird has a free will and thus it can go anywhere according
to it's own choice.
 
Moreover, it seems that in the modern educational system we are neglecting the
studies on life. We are all living beings and not just a lump of mere dead
matter such as electrons, protons and neutrons. We all must know what life is so
that we can properly utilize it to achieve the ultimate goal of life. A monkey
may have a  laptop in its hand but as it has no knowledge about the laptop, it
will certainly mis-utilize it. Similarly, we all have life and if we don’t
know what it is, then certainly we are all wasting our human form of life.

200 years have already passed in the glorious history of modern science, but
until now it couldn’t even accept the existence of mind in its theories and
literature. Every day scientists are using their mind happily, but modern
science very smartly eliminates its existence to hide its limitations. The
modern science doesn’t accept the existence of mind just because the mind
doesn’t follow any of its mathematical equations or physics and chemistry. The
scientists can only accept that which they can sense by their five senses. If we
talk about mind the scientist may ask, where is the mind? If it is there then, I
must see it, I must taste it, I must smell it or I must touch it. If I can’t
get any trace of a thing with my five senses, or if anything is beyond my
mathematical equations, physics and chemistry then I will not accept its
existence. This is the propaganda modern science is making. Modern science is
focusing on studies of dead matter but it
  has completely neglected the studies about life. There is no department in the
present educational system where we can learn the ‘Science of the Soul’ and
‘Science of God’.
 
 
If we talk about mind the scientist may ask, where is the mind? If it is there
then, I must see it, I must taste it, I must smell it or I must touch it. If I
can’t get any trace of a thing with my five senses, or if anything is beyond
my mathematical equations, physics and chemistry then I will not accept its
existence.
 
We are all living beings and our real focus should be to solve the real problems
of life such as birth, death, old age and disease. None of us wants to die (we
want sat or eternity), we want to be in full knowledge (cit) and we all are
searching for joy (ananda). This is because sat, cit and ananda are the real
nature of a living being. We have no department in the present educational
system where we can study about ‘our own self’ or life. We are studying
everything but our own self. Without a proper knowledge about our own self we
can’t do any real good to our self.
 
At present state due to lack of proper knowledge about our own self we are
assuming ourselves as this body and working so hard to do all good to this body
only. However, at the time of death everything that we have accumulated for this
body by working so hard is lost in a moment and our body becomes useless.
Existence of our real self makes our body living, and its absence makes the body
dead. It seems that at present we are working hard to nourish the coat of a man
and not the man himself. The coat is our body and the man is our real self. Thus
we must know how we can earn some real wealth for our real self or how we can do
some real good to our own self. This requires substantial knowledge about our
own self. Such education is a must for one and all, who love their own self and
want to do good for their own self.
 
 
It seems that at present we are working hard to nourish the coat of a man and
not the man himself. The coat is our body and the man is our real self. Thus we
must know how we can earn some real wealth for our real self or how we can do
some real good to our own self. This requires substantial knowledge about our
own self. Such education is a must for one and all, who love their own self and
want to do good for their own self. 
 
The great thinkers and teachers of the present age, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar
Dev-Goswami Maharaj and Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, felt that
even though we have advanced to such a great degree in so many varieties of
fields, we have ignored our real interests. Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar
Dev-Goswami Maharaj said “First we must eliminate this mortal existence. Then,
we must satisfy our reason, our consciousness. And finally, we must satisfy our
heart.” To educate the sincere souls on this most important subject matter
Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj opened a school named Sri
Chaitanya Saraswat Math. Sevaite-President-Acharyya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat
Math. Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, is a successor chosen

After reading the recent South India tour report many sincere souls feel
encouraged for receiving the association of devotees to learn the spiritual
science. Recently the scholars of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math and Bhaktivedanta
Institute got an invitation to educate the sincere souls on the topics such as
‘Science of the Soul’ and ‘Science of God’ from a few institutes and
people from the west part of India (Anand, Bhavnagar , Mumbai and Pune). Sripad
Bhakti Madhava Puri Maharaj, Ph.D. encouraged the scholars of Bhaktivedanta
Institute to present the message of Gaudiya Acharyas in the scientific language
in the West India tour. Sripad Bhakti Madhava Puri Maharaj, Ph.D. is training
students through a weekly online lecture session on the subject matter of
science/spirituality under the banner of Bhaktivedanta Institute. The joining

Devotees of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math and Bhaktivedanta Institute went to have
the darsan of Sevaite-President-Acharyya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math Srila
Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj and they informed Srila Bhakti Sundar
Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj about the invitation from west India. Knowing about
the invitation from West India Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj
became very happy. Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj told that
Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj is a very good teacher and asked all of us
to carryout the West India tour under his holy association.
 
 
Knowing about the invitation from West India Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda
Dev-Goswami Maharaj became very happy. Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami
Maharaj told that Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj is a very good teacher
and asked all of us to carryout the West India tour under his holy association.
 
Having received blessings from so many spiritually elevated personalities, the
devotees became surcharged with spiritual energy to distribute the message of
the great Acharyas to the sincere souls. In the tour, devotees visited six
colleges and have given presentations on science and spirituality. The tour

The detailed tour report is as follows:
 
Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj found out from the panjika that an
auspicious time for starting the west tour is in the evening (before 5pm) on
27th July 2009. Five devotees (Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj, Sripad
Jagadananda Prabhu from USA , Sripad Ramsee Prabhu, Sripad Purshottama
Jagannatha Prabhu and Sushen Krishna Das) after taking the blessings of all the
Vaisnavas (devotees of Lord Krishna) and Guruvarga (spiritual teachers) started
the West India tour just before 5pm on 27th July 2009. Sripad Purushottama
Jagannatha Prabhu submitted his Ph.D. thesis recently in Chemical Engineering
department of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-Kgp). Following the
order of Srila Gurudev His Divine Grace Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Maharaj (Dr. T.
D. Singh), Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha Prabhu now dedicated his life to
spread the message of Srila Sripad Maharaj to the scientists and scholars in
scientific language under the expert guidance
  of Sripad Bhakti Madhava Puri Maharaj, Ph.D.
 
 
Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha Prabhu submitted his Ph.D. thesis recently in

Howrah station in Kolkata to catch the train for Anand, Gujurat at 11.45pm on

Devotee reached Anand station on 19th July 2009 and Professor Parag Suttar and
Professor Hridesh Pande from Anand Agricultural University received all the
devotees in the Anand. Professor Parag Suttar and Professor Hridesh Pande are
friends of Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha Prabhu and Dr. Sushen Krishna Das and
they all are Ph.Ds from IIT-Kharagpur. In the evening there was a house program
in Professor Hridesh Pande’s apartment building (Radhaswami apartment). The

On the morning of 31st July 2009 devotees started their journey towards
Bhavnagar , Gujurat and reached Bhavnagar at 2 PM in the afternoon. Sripad
Sanjay Prabhu and Sripad Ketan Prabhu received devotees in Bhavnagar. After
afternoon mahaprasadam seva, Sripad Sanjay Prabhu and Dr. Sushen Krishna Das
went together to three colleges and arranged the science/spirituality lectures
in three colleges in Bhavanagar on 1st August 2009. In the evening there was a

On the night of 31st July 2009 devotees took rest in the house of Sripad Rakesh
Prabhu in Bhavnagar and in the morning on 1st of August 2009 devotees went to
Bhavanagar ISKCON to attend Mangal Aratik. After Mangal aratik under the holy
association of Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj there was a grand nagar
Sankirtan and book distribution. After that devotees started for the three
colleges to deliver the lectures on the science/spirituality topics as mentioned
above.
 
 
In the morning on 1st of August 2009 devotees went to Bhavanagar ISKCON to
attend Mangal Aratik. After Mangal aratik under the holy association of Sripad
Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj there was a grand nagar Sankirtan and book
distribution.
 
The first college that devotees visited was M J College of Commerce , Bhavnagar
, Gujurat. The principal of M J College of Commerce Dr. K. S. Vataliya welcomed
the devotees. There were around 100 students and faculties attended the lecture
series on science/spirituality. First Dr. Sushen Krsna Das spoke on the problems
involved with Big Bang theory and Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha Prabhu spoke
about the Vedanta. Both Dr. Sushen Krsna Das and Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha
Prabhu delivered their lectures in Hindi as a few students in M J College of
Commerce, Bhavnagar are not so fluent in English. After that Sripad Jagadananda
Prabhu and Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj delivered their lectures on
Food for Consciousness is Ecstasy and Science of Bhagavad-Gita respectively in
English. This lecture series (in Hindi and English) in M J College of Commerce,

After that all the devotees proceeded to second college, Sir Bhavsinhjii
Polytechnic Institute, Bhavnagar , Gujurat which is located very near by to M J
College of Commerce. Devotees were welcomed by the head of the department of
fabrication technology and the principal of Sir Bhavsinhjii Polytechnic
Institute Smt. I. J.Dave. The students and faculties welcomed the speakers by
singing the Hindi song "Itni shakti hame dena data…" followed by lighting of
lamp. First Dr. Sushen Krsna Das and Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha Prabhu
delivered their lectures in Hindi as a few students in Sir Bhavsinhjii
Polytechnic Institute, Bhavnagar are not fluent in English. After that Sripad
Jagadananda Prabhu and Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj delivered their
lectures in English. Speakers, students and faculties of Sir Bhavsinhjii
Polytechnic Institute sang the national anthem in the end. This lecture series

Bhavsinhjii Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Sushen Krsna Das spoke about the
limitation of modern scientific approach in understating the origin of universe
and Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha Prabhu spoke about the science of Vedanta.
After that Sripad Jagadananda Prabhu and Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj
delivered their lectures on Food for Consciousness is Ecstasy and Science of
Bhagavad-Gita respectively. All the lectures were delivered in English. Due to

Devotees reached Mumbai on 4th August 2009 and Sripad Janak Prabhu (B.Tech,
M.Tech from IIT-Mumbai) and Sripad Satjan Prabhu received devotees at Mumbai. In

On the 5th August 2009 morning devotees visited a most beautiful temple
belonging to Sripad Bhaktisvarupa Tirtha Maharaj (Disciple of Srila Bhagavat
Maharaj, who is a disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura
Prabhupada) in Navi Mumbai on the appearance day of Lord Baladevaji.   
 
In the afternoon on 5th August 2009 devotees went to Atharva Group of Colleges
in Malad, Mumbai to give a presentation on Science/Spirituality. There were
around 150 students and faculties attended the lecture series on
science/spirituality. First Dr. Sushen Krishna Das spoke on the problems
involved with present approach in studying the origin of universe and Sripad
Jagadananda Prabhu delivered a lecture on the topic, food for consciousness is
ecstasy. After that Sripad Purushottama Jagannatha Prabhu spoke about the
Science of Vedanta. Finally, Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj delivered a
lecture the science of Bhagavad-Gita in English.

After the college program, in the evening on 5th of August 2009 devotees visited
ISKCON, Juhu in Mumbai to take blessings of Srila Gurudev, Srila Prabhupada,
Lord Nitai-Gauranga, Lord Radha Rasa Bihariji, Lord Sita-Ram-Laksman-Hanumanji
and Their devotees on the occasion of Lord Baladev’s appearance day. 

 
Our godbrother Sripad Mukunda Madhava Prabhu (Vice President of ISKCON, Juhu in
Mumbai) taken the association of Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj and
devotees. During the meeting we discussed Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda
Dev-Goswami Maharaj's divine message "It is necessary to see what should be
the one target in  our lives, and that is service to Guru and Vaisnava.  This
is the main thing of value in our lives. To get a  position or to get a chair
is very easy. Anyone, any-where, can make a chair for himself. But to receive 
mercy from Guru and Vaisnava is very difficult,  although that is the wealth of
our lives, and that is what  we need for our practicing life."
 
 
On 6th of August 2009, in the morning, devotees in BACE at Navimumbai took the
association of Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj and devotees to learn the
scientific presentation of Krishna consciousness.
 
 
In the afternoon on 6th of August 2009 devotees visited ISKCON, Chowpatty. In
ISKCON, Chowpatty Sripad Pitambar Prabhu (a disciple of Sripad Subag Maharaj)
took the association of Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj and devotees.


Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj explained to us about his meeting with
Sripad Subhag Maharaj when he visited to Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in
Ekachakra Dhama (birth place of Lord Nityananada Prabhu) a few weeks earlier.
Sripad Subhag Maharaj requested from Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj a
copy of the meaning and explanation of Gayatri Mantra given by Srila Bhakti
Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj gifted
to Sripad Subhag Maharaj through Sripad Pitambar Prabhu, a VCD containing the
meaning and explanation of Gayatri Mantra as revealed by Srila Bhakti Raksak
Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Sripad Pitambar Prabhu asked a few questions about
the Hare Krishna Mahamantra chanting to Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj
and Maharaj explained that the deeper meaning of Hare Krishna Mahamantra

In the afternoon,7th of August 2009, devotees started towards Pune from Mumbai
and in the evening devotees reached Pune. In Pune, Sripad Tripad Prabhu

celebration in Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in Navadwip Dham.  
 
We offer our humble prayers at the divine lotus feet of all Sadhus, Gurudev and
Vaisnavas. By their unlimited grace and blessings only, we could engage in some
humble service for the pleasure of Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna
and His pure devotees. We also sincerely thank all the devotees and institute
authorities who have helped us in rendering a humble services for the pleasure
of Sadhus, Gurudev and Vaisnavas. The devotees received an invitation from North

Continued From The Second Part

We see in the entire Ayodhya Kanda, Sri Rama as an embodiment of Dharma,
strictly practising Dharma without any compromise under the most trying
circumstances. He also effectively preaches Dharma, without fear or favour to
one and all in the epic, irrespective of the relationship involved, whether it
is his father, mother, brother, wife, friend, Rishis and enemies. Even the
enemies of Sri Rama have recognized him as an embodiment of Dhramal

For example, the demon Maricha. while dissuading Ravana, who sought his help for
abduction of Sita Devi, declares to him "Rama is an incarnate of Dharma, pious
and of unfailing prowess". Again, Tara, Vali's wife refers to Sri Rama as "Sri
Rama is the tree affording shelter to virtuous souls, the good and noble and the
ultimate resort of those in the grip of calamity. He is the refuge of the
afflicted and the unique repository of glory". Even after Valis' death, she
praises Sri Rama in the famous Tara sthuthi :

'You are immeasurable beyond time, space and substance, nay difficult to
approach even by yogis and have mastered your senses; you are possessed of
highest virtue and enjoy undecaying fame; you are wise and endowed with
forbearance like the earth and distinguished by blood-red eyes". This stotra,
contains replies to all the charges levelled by her husband Vali, against the
Dharmic Sri Rama!

In the Ayodhya Kanda, Sri Rama is confronted with the most difficult situation
faced by anybody in his life. The denial of the rightful kingdom to Sri Rama,
followed by his banishment to the forest for 14 years, even without a
charge-sheet, exploded into a crisis for the entire Ayodhyal But Sri Rama, who
should have been the most affected by the events, not only remained ever calm
and serene throughout but also pacified and educated the militant relations and
subjects! This was done through his able and convincing advocacy of the "Law of
Karma" and Dharma! Sri Rama re-educates the intellect of the people and enables
them, by his own example to readjust their minds.

When Sri Rama came out of the chamber there was not even a trace of change in
his facial expression....

Some of the striking incidents which elevate the glorious character of Sri Rama
upholding Dharma are worthy of recital. Instigated by Manthara, the hard-hearted
Kaikeyi demanded the boons from Dasaratha for Rama's exile and Bharata's
coronation. When the king was helplessly placed in a terrible dilemma, she
summoned Rama and cautiously conveyed the unpleasant news of his father's
commands.

Contrary to her expectation, Sri Rama readily agreed but only felt pained that
his father was subjected to such agony and torture on his account. He told
Kaikeyi that she could have avoided this by rightfully and directly ordering him
to do father's bidding! When the mean Kaikeyi became suspicious at Rama's joy to
see his beloved brother Bharata's coronation before leaving for the forest, she
bluffed that King Dasaratha would not take bath or eat until Rama left for the
forest! Sri Rama, the Dharma Devata sensed her feeling and roared Dharma. .

"Oh Devi, I do not desire to live in the world as a slave to material gains,
Know me to be strictly devoted to the path of Dharma like the Rishis"

When Sri Rama came out of the chamber there was not even a trace of change in
his facial expression. He maintained the same serenity as when he entered it.
For, he knew that it was providence working through Mother Kalkeyil Nobody
outside except Lakshmana was even aware that a terrible disappointment awaited
them; Lakshmana who heard the dialogue in the chamber erupted like a volcano,
terrible anger and grief, at the injustice done to his noble brother.
Consequently, he abused his father and had decided to embark on a violent
revolution to install Sri Rama.

At this crucial juncture, Lakshmana received convincing sermons from his
tranquil brother on Dharma, 'Law of Karma' and 'Decrees of Providence' operating
in the affairs of human beingsl When one feels deeply frustrated and depressed
in life at failures, which are normal, the advice of Sri Rama would provide,
over the shoulders of Lakshmana, a grand perspective and immense solace to one
and all even today.

The right attitude of the devotee should be one of total surrender. As one
devotee declared, "I am offering to you the heart which you gave me. I have
nothing I can call my very own. All are yours. I offer to you what is already
yours". As long as this spirit of total surrender is not developed, man will
have to be born again and again. One should offer one's heart to the Divine and
not be content with making offerings like flowers and fruits.
