World's Most Beautiful Sunrises 'n' Sunsets

Victoria Coast Sunset, Victoria, Australia, 1998 'The stone spires off Victoria's coast are called the Twelve Apostles ...' -From 'Closing the Circle: Australia by Bike, Part Three,' April 1998, National Geographic magazine Photograph by R. Ian Lloyd

Adirondack Summits, New York, 1996 Fog envelops the southern Adirondacks at sunrise. (Photograph shot on assignment for, but not published in, 'Adirondack High,' June 1998, National Geographic magazine) Photograph by Maria Stenzel

Lake Sunrise, Arkansas, 1994 Sunlight glints off a tranquil lake in central Arkansas. The site is near historic Arkansas Route 7, which goes through Hot Springs, boyhood home of former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and continues deep into the Ozark National Forest, where signs warn that the road is 'crooked and steep,' and weary drivers can stop at a hillbilly trading post called 'Booger Hollow.' (Text adapted from and photograph shot on assignment for, but not published in, the National Geographic Book Guide to Scenic Highways and Byways, 1994) Photograph by Ian C. Martin

The sun sets on the first-century ruins of Nemrud Dagh, Turkey, millennia after it set on the ancient kingdom itself. Built by King Antiochus I in southeastern Turkey, the kingdom is one of the best preserved but least known ruins of the Late Hellenistic period. Its monuments are a story in stone depicting the king, his family and ancestors, and their interaction with the gods. (Photo shot on assignment for, but not published in, 'Wrath of the Gods: Centuries of Upheaval Along the Anatolian Fault,' July 2000, National Geographic magazine) Photograph by Reza

Desert Sunset, Giza, Egypt, 1981 'Splendor of the past endures in an Egyptian pyramid. Camels have provided desert transport in parts of Africa and Asia since ancient times.' -From the National Geographic book Exploring Your World: The Adventure of Geography, 1989 Photograph by Gordon Gahan

Beaufort Sea, Yukon Territory, Canada, 1999 Sunset over the Beaufort Sea plunges Canada's Yukon Territory into a crimson haze. More than 313,000 tourists make summer pilgrimages to the territory, one of North America's last great wildernesses. Today tourism booms there, drawing adventurers to the frontier's glaciated peaks, untouched wilderness, and abundant wildflowers and wildlife. (Photo shot on assignment for, but not published in, 'Caribou Dreams,' March 1999, National Geographic Traveler magazine) Photograph by Michael Melford

Sand Pond, Queensland, Australia, 1995 'The moon at sunrise lends an otherworldly feel to the freshwater lakes and pearly sands along the edge of lonely Shelburne Bay, on the remote northeast flank of the Cape York Peninsula.' -From the National Geographic book Australia: Journey Through a Timeless Land, 1999 Photograph by Sam Abell

Cape York Sunset, Queensland, Australia, 1995 A vibrant sunset reflects Australia's stunning landscape. Cape York Peninsula is inhabited by 14,000 people and nearly 7,000 are Aboriginal. Today, ownership of almost a third of the land is in dispute between its original inhabitants and by those who came later. (Text adapted from and photograph shot on assignment for, but not published in, 'Cape York Peninsula,' June 1996, National Geographic magazine) Photograph by Sam Abell

Meghna River Fishing Boat, Bangladesh, 1993 A fishing boat plies the Meghna River at sunset. Photograph by James P. Blair

September Sunrise, New York, 1996 A September sunrise greets Mount Colden's summit. Lump together Glacier, Olympic, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon National Parks, and Adirondack Park would still be bigger. A patchwork of property, the park is 57 percent privately owned. New York state, which controls the rest, protects it with an unusual constitutional provision stipulating that this land remain forever wild. Nomura's Jellyfish

Join me @ forwards4all

Nomura's Jellyfish is a very large Japanese jellyfish. It is in the same size class as
the lion's mane jellyfish, the largest cnidarian in the world. The width of these
jellyfish are slightly larger than the height of most full grown men.

While stings of this large jellyfish are painful, they are not usually toxic enough
to cause serious harm in humans.
Join me @ forwards4all
Join me @ forwards4all

The most recent problems first became obvious in late August 2005 when Japanese
fishermen fishing for squid, anchovies, salmon and Japanese amberjack began
finding huge numbers of the jellyfish in their nets. The areas that were hardest
hit were the Sea of Japan coasts of Fukui and Shimane prefectures in western Japan.

Join me @ forwards4all

Often, the weight of the echizen kurage broke the nets or crushed fish in the net.
In the worst cases, as many as 1000 Nomura's jellyfish have been trapped in one net.
Many fish trapped within the net with the jellyfish that survived were too poisoned
and slimed by the tentacles to be of commercial value.

Join me @ forwards4all

The problem with combating the jellyfish is that when they are under attack or killed,
they release billions of sperm or eggs which connect in the water and attach to rocks
or coral formations. when the conditions are favorable, the creatures detach from
their home millions at a time and grow into more jellyfish.

~*~ Dead Sea ~*~

The Dead Sea is a salt lake between Israel and the West Bank to the west, and Jordan to the east. It is 422 metres (1,385 ft) below sea level, and its shores are the lowest point on the surface of the Earth on dry land.

The Dead Sea is 378 m (1,240 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. It is also one of the world's saltiest bodies of water, with 33.7 percent salinity. Only Lake Assal (Djibouti), Garabogazköl and some hypersaline lakes of the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica (such as Don Juan Pond and perhaps Lake Vanda) have a higher salinity. It is 8.6 times saltier than the ocean. This salinity makes for a harsh environment where animals cannot flourish, hence its name.

The Dead Sea is 67 kilometres (42 mi) long and 18 kilometres (11 mi) wide at its widest point. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River.

Zimbabwean Inflation

Indian economy and our financial position shakes if the inflation goes over 10%. In Zimbabwe, the current inflation rate has gone over 13,000,000%. This poor country is not left with any option that to print currencies of higher values.

In October 2008, Zimbabwe's $65 billion were equal to just US $2000. Now this equation has become further worst.

To cater the inflation, the Zimbabwean government has ordered printing of Zimbabwean $100 trillion notes (1 trillion = 1,00,000 crores).

Moreover, the life of the note will be just 7.5 months. This means, if you have a Zimbabwean note which was printed on May 15, 2009, then you should use it on or before December 31, 2009. Else, it will not be accepted after this period. So, be careful if you're visiting Zimbabwe!!

Killing of innocent dolphins in Denmark

While it may seem incredible, even today this custom continues, in Dantesque, - in the Faroe Islands, ( Denmark ) . A country supposedly 'civilized' and an EU country at that. For many people this attack to life is unknown– a custom to 'show' entering adulthood.. It is absolutely atrocious. No one does anything to prevent this barbarism being committed against the Calderon, an intelligent dolphin that is placid and approaches humans out of friendliness.

No wonder, this innocent fishes will extinct soon or will become endangered species.

PROTEST AGAINST THIS. FORWARD THIS MAIL TO ALL. LET THE WORLD AND PETA KNOW WHAT THESE BARBARIANS ARE DOING.
