Events recreated in Lego
The recreation of events have been achieved in many media formats from photographs to movies but in this post, we showcases something a little different. Each of these Lego setups recreates a famous scene, yet are just as easy to recognize as the original piece, showing that Legos are just as culturally relevant to adults as they are to kids.

How To Get A Job In Tech Industry
With the country still deep in recession, the jobs situation seems to be worsening with each passing day. Americans are seriously hurting, and with through-the-roof unemployment combined with stagnant wages, large-scale economic recovery seems a long ways off. A few industries, however, seem impervious to decline, and tech is one of those industries. Indeed, with Android and iPhone sales raging to record numbers and Facebook bigger than ever, the big 3 companies in tech especially seem to be having no problems with growth and employment.
Naturally, a lot of us would like to work for them. But how? This infographic details the lay of the land in tech right now, where the hottest cities are, and who is hiring for what. Perhaps most importantly, it lets you know the hottest emerging fields in tech, and the kinds of degrees that can get you there. If you have been considering grabbing a master’s degree in a tech specialty, there may be no better time than right now.

Beautiful Flower Vases
The vase is an open container, often used to hold cut flowers. It can be made from a number of materials including ceramics and glass. The vase is often decorated and thus used to extend the beauty of its contents.
The vase has also developed as an art medium unto itself. The ancient Greeks famously used vases to depict scenes. It has since been developed and in 2003 the winner of the Turner Prize was Grayson Perry, for vase art.

High Dynamic Range or HDR photography is the digital age equivalent of Adams's zone system.
Street photography is one of the forms of photojournalism, it is pure documentary of a city, its people, the times and fashions, expressions and movements. Street photo art is like a great wine that gets better with age.

Fire at Shell Refinery in Singapore
Here are some pics of fire that broke out in Royal Dutch Shell's Pulau Bukom offshore petroleum complex in Singapore on September 29, 2011.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc had to shut most of its half-a-million barrels-per-day Singapore refinery, sources said, as firefighters struggled to contain a blaze that had burnt for more than a day. The plant, the company's biggest, makes up more than a third of refining capacity in the city-state, the world's largest market for fuel oil and Asia's hub for crude and refined product trading.

Germany returns skulls of ancestors to Namibia
Germany repatriated to Namibia Tuesday 20 African skulls taken from the area about a century ago when it was under its colonial rule and sent to Germany for questionable racial studies.
A skull from Germany on display in the city of Windhoek, Namibia, Tuesday, Oct 4, 2011. With warriors on horseback and teary-eyed women ululating their joy, hundreds of Namibians on Tuesday welcomed home the skulls of ancestors taken to Germany for racist experiments more than a century ago. The skulls are "testimony to the horrors of colonialism and German cruelty against our people," Prime Minister Nahas Angula said at an airport ceremony, "The Namibian nation accepts these mortal remains as a symbolic closure of a tragic chapter."
This handout picture from the National Archives of Namibia, taken during the 1904-1908 war of Germany against Herero and Nama in Namibia. A Namibian delegation left for Germany on September 25, 2011 to reclaim about 20 human skulls used by colonial-era scientists.
A member of a Namibian delegation attends the hand-over ceremony of 20 skulls taken from Namibia. A century after colonial German authorities seized the remains of Africans for racial experiments, 20 skulls have returned to Namibia with military honours to be laid in state at parliament.
Skulls of Ovaherero and Nama people are displayed during a service attended by representatives of the tribes from Namibia in Berlin, Germany, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011. About 60 Ovaherero and Nama traditional leaders and other officials arrived in Berlin, Germany to return about 20 skulls believed to be of Ovaherero and Nama people, killed by the then-German colonial forces during the resistance war in Namibia between 1904 and 1908.
Members of a delegation from Namibia stand over 20 skulls, many of them in boxes draped under Namibian flags, at the conclusion of a ceremony at Charite hospital to repatriate the skulls.

The skulls are from Herero and Nama tribespeople taken by German colonial forces between 1904 and 1908, when the Germans violently suppressed an uprising in what was then German Southwest Africa, which is today's Namibia.
One of 20 skulls to be taken possession of by a delegation from Namibia stands on display at a ceremony at Charite hospital on September 30, 2011 in Berlin, Germany.

XXXX Gold Retreat Super Truck
The XXXX Gold Retreat was designed to leverage the XXXX Gold sponsorship of the V8 Supercar series on race tracks around Australia. Truckmania was briefed to design and build a unit that is mobile, simple to both bump-in and bump-out and unlike anything ever designed before it. The design was influenced by the classic Queenslander style pub and features a 7.5m bar with timber interior and decking. The promotional unit consists of a B-Double trailer that once on site uses a combination of 21 hydraulic rams to transform the unit into the XXXX Gold Retreat.

The Sealander Cara-boat
The Sealander Cara-boat is a newly designed travel entertainment container which suits a family requirement. This boat extends the enjoyment of camping and leisure. It has a double hull, meaning that if it springs a leak only the sub-floor will fill with water. A road trip doesn't have to be the end of the road; you can pull the Sealander into the water and continue on your holiday.
The Sealander include cooking, cleaning, eating and sleeping facilities and can move around on the water due to its electric motor. It promises to combine the pleasures of camping with cruising in a single holiday. There have been numerous designs for cars crossed with boats, but amphibious craft have been most commonly used for search and rescue, and in the military.

China's richest village
Huaxi village, also known as China's richest village, celebrates its 50th anniversary with the inauguration of a massive 1,076 feet high skyscraper that screams for attention from its lowly skyline. A solid gold bull weighing a tonne also greets visitors at a viewing area on the 60th-floor of the tower, a testament to the wealth of the village.
In Huaxi, those from the original 2,000 residents have at least a house, a car, and $250,000 in the bank and enjoy universal health care and free education. Officials from elsewhere in China tour Huaxi to find out how this once sleepy village, with just 576 residents in the 1950s, is now so rich and why non-local businessmen would donate million-dollar factories to buy the privilege of a local residence permit.

Vietnamese woman turned 23 to 73 in a few days
Doctors have been left baffled by a strange condition which appears to have caused a 23-year-old woman to age 50 years in a matter of days. Nguyen Thi Phuong, from Vietnam, now looks like a septugenarian after the affliction took hold in 2008 leaving her with a puffy face and sagging skin. However her husband, carpenter Nguyen Thanh Tuyen says his love has not faded for his once beautiful wife, who is now 26.
Rapid ageing: A mystery condition has apparently caused Nguyen Thi Phuong's face to sag and wrinkle over a matter of day. She is pictured aged 21 on the left and 26 on the right.
She has always worn wear a mask in public to hide her appearance from prying eyes, but she has now sought help from doctors to see if they can reverse the 'ageing' effect. Displaying photos of a beautiful 21-year-old woman on her wedding day in 2006, Mrs Nguyen said: 'Five years ago, I was rather pretty and not so ugly like this, right?'
Mrs Nguyen believes her condition was caused by a life-long allergy to seafood. She said she had suffered a particularly bad reaction in 2008. 'I was really itchy all over my body. I had to scratch even while sleeping.' Phuong said she took some medicine bought at a local pharmacy instead of going to the hospital because her and her husband Tuyen, now 33, were too poor to afford it.
She said: 'After one month of taking the drugs, I became less itchy but hives remained on my skin. Then I switched to traditional medicine and all the hives disappeared, together with my itching. However, my skin began to sag and fold.'
Mrs Nguyen then took another kind of traditional medicine to treat her rapid-aging skin problem - but to no avail. Doctors say it may have been the long-term use of traditional medicines that caused the condition as they are often spiked with corticoids. These steroids speed up the effects of the unregulated remedies but could also have triggered the rare skin disease mastocytosis, where the body produces too many mast cells. The couple do not remember what the medicine was or which pharmacy they got it from.

The Kingdom Tower: 1000+ meter Upcoming World's Tallest Skyscraper
Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill Architecture designed The Kingdom Tower, to be the world's tallest building about 1000+ meter, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, near the Red Sea.
Supertall building experts Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill are to complete the design for a stunning new tower to anchor the proposed $20bn Kingdom City masterplanning project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The firm carefully quashed internet rumours that they were working on a mile-high tower, yet did not deny involvement in the Kingdom Tower scheme. This morning His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, nephew of Saudi Arabian King Abdullah and chairman of Kingdom Holding Company officially announced AS+GG as design architects of the project to awaiting media.
Reassuringly elegant for a tower of such epic proportions the completed Kingdom Tower will soar at over 1000m (at least 173m taller than the Burj Khalifa which currently holds the title of the world's tallest building) with a total construction area of 530,000 sq mtr. The structure is being touted as a new marker of Jeddah's importance as a gateway to the city of Mecca and has been directly inspired by the folded fronds of a young desert plant. Adrian Smith details: With its slender, subtly asymmetrical massing, the tower evokes a bundle of leaves shooting up from the ground a burst of new life that heralds more growth all around it.
Smith's partner Gordon Gill continues: The way the fronds sprout upward from the ground as a single form, then start separating from each other at the top, is an analogy of the new growth fused with technology. The graceful needle is also designed to symbolise the city of Jeddah as an economic power and cultural leader, with a focus on the strength and creative vision of its people.
Aside from the initial wow-factor of the building's statistics, AS+GG have been applauded for their sensitive design aesthetic. Talal Al Maiman, Executive Director, Development and Domestic Investments, a Board member of Kingdom Holding Company and a board member of JEC commented: Prince Alwaleed, Mr. Bakhsh, Mr. Sharbatly and I were impressed by the boldness and simplicity of the AS+GG design. Kingdom Tower's height is remarkable, obviously, but the building's iconic status will not depend solely on that aspect. Its form is brilliantly sculpted, making it quite simply one of the most beautiful buildings in the world of any height.
Encased in the new spire's glimmering fassade will be a Four Seasons hotel, Four Seasons serviced apartments, Class A office Space, luxury condominiums and the world's highest observatory. 59 elevators using the world's most high-tech systems will be installed to provide ease of access, with 54 single-deck and 5 double-deck systems. The residential aspect has influenced the three-petal footprint of the design with tapering wings introducing an aerodynamic shape to reduce structural loading due to wind vortex shedding. All three sides of the Kingdom Tower sport a series of notches which form specifically engineered areas of shadow designed to fall on the outdoor terraces facing the city and Red Sea.
AS+GG is leading an interdisciplinary design team that also includes building services engineering consultants Environmental Systems Design, Inc. (ESD) and structural engineering consultants Thornton Tomasetti. The developer of Kingdom City, Jeddah Economic Company (JEC), selected the AS+GG scheme after a lengthy competition process in which SOM, Pickard Chilton, Kohn Pedersen Fox, Pelli Clarke Pelli and Foster + Partners also participated.
