Goa Revolution Day today
PANAJI, June 17: Goa will celebrate its Revolution Daytomorrow commemorating the beginning of a mass struggle to liberate it from Portuguese rule. The day commemorates the clarion call given by Dr Ram Manohar Lohia in 1946 to the people of Goa to unite and fight against the Portuguese regime. The call was a turning point in the struggle against the colonial rule.
Governor, Mr Mohammed Fazal and Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar have extended greetings on the eve of the revolution day.
On this day, the sacrifices and valour of the freedom fighters and martyrs are remembered and the state government will honour 58 freedom fighters on the occasion.
