PANJIM, NOV 22 (HR) Tragedy struck a Bangalore-bound Kadamba Transport  
Corporation (KTC) bus which left from Panjim on Friday when five
persons perished in a fatal accident on Saturday morning at Sira about 100      
kilometers away from Bangalore.

Palacio de Deao case in Quepem reverted to civil court

QUEPEM, NOV 22 (HC) The mediation proceedings in the Palacio de Deao    
case have failed, compelling the matter to be reverted to the civil     
court at Quepem. It may be recalled that a Canon of the cathedral       
Chapter Fr Assuncao had challenged the lease deed executed by Fr        
Benjamin Fernandes in respect of the Palacio de Deao in favour of one   
Ruben Vasco de Gama.

PANJIM, NOV 22 (HR) With Goan handicrafts being given the much needed   
boost, the Goa Handicrafts, Rural and Small Scale Industries
Development  Corporation Limited has projected an annual turnover of Rs 1 crore (or  
Rs 10 million) this year. The Corporation"s annual turnover which has   
never crossed Rs 32 lakh (Rs 3.2 million) during the last 5-6 years,    
according to the Chairman of the Corporation Damodar Naik, is now
coming
out of its shell with all efforts being made to revive the enthusiasm
of
local artisans and handicraft manufacturers.

advised the quasi-judicial officers not to be influenced by political   
dictates of the government but stick to the fundamental principles of   
natural justice, judicial procedure and fair play while disposing of    
cases to ensure good governance.

death anniversary of Venerable Fr Agnelo was held at St John*s Chapel
