Esta é uma mensagem de apresentação de uma iniciativa embrionária no
espaço cibernético, o Fórum Portugal-Goa.

Assiste-se presentemente a um renascente interesse dos portugueses,
e das outras sociedades lusófonas, por Goa. Igualmente, em Goa, com
o passado colonial mais distante, observa-se um renovado interesse
por Portugal.

Esta redescoberta não se restringe ao estudo letárgico e repetitivo
do legado colonial português e o seu impacto no passado e presente.
Novas gerações de investigadores, mas também de investidores ou
artistas portugueses e goeses, têm forçado imaginativamente um
redimensionamento do eixo de relações e cooperação entre Goa e
Portugal. Urge agora reunir esta dinâmica, espartilhada por vários
países e por várias disciplinas académicas e áreas de actividade, e
igualmente por diversas faixas geracionais.

A Internet, como meio de comunicação barato e de acessibilidade
facilitada, apresenta-se assim como espaço ideal para este processo
sinergético, juntando estudantes, investigadores e profissionais de
Portugal e Goa (sem excluir outros potenciais interessados), com os
seguintes interesses:
- estudar Goa, nas mais variadas disciplinas académicas.
- investir em Goa, tanto na área económica e comercial, como em
termos de empreendorismo jovem e dinâmico.
- trabalhar em Goa, seja em termos de carreira profissional
contínua, como para trabalhos, estágios ou projectos de curta
duração.
- acompanhar e divulgar igualmente eventos e notícias relacionadas
com a Índia em geral e relações luso-indianas.
- promover o intercâmbio e a troca de pessoas, ideias e iniciativas
entre Goa e Portugal, nas mais diversas áreas

This is an introductory message for all potentially interested in
joining the new initiative Forum Portugal-Goa. This is an-Internet
based discussion forum on the relations between Goa and Portugal,
with special emphasis on the contemporary period. Today there is a
renewed interest of both Portuguese and Goan researchers, investors
and artist in reshaping the axis of cooperation between Goa and
Portugal, moving away from the lethargic study of the historical
colonial period and its legacy. The group is of open-access to all
those who share the following interests:
- to study Goa in a multidisciplinary approach
- to invest in Goa, in the economic and commercial sector, as well
as in young and innovative entrepreneurship
- to follow and promote also events and news related to India in
general and the Portugal-India relations.
- to promote the exchange of ideas and projects as well as the
exchange of people between Goa and Portugal, in different areas

The knowledge of Portuguese is not compulsory, as information may be
circulated in both Portuguese and English, though members are
invited to attach small translations of the main message subject in
the other language.
