Uly,
That is great news! Would you know if the concert will be recorded? I suppose not, but if you know of any moves towards that, please do let us know. A concert review by a local music critic would be great, specially for long time admirers of both Jethro Tull and Remo.
Best wishes,
Joao Paulo Cota

>REMO TO PERFORM WITH JETHRO TULL
>
>Remo Fernandes is scheduled to perform with Jethro Tull, one of the world’s leading rock bands, in Dubai next month. Jethro Tull, led by the path-breaking flautist Ian Anderson, is responsible for fusing Rock with Western Classical music, and Anderson revolutionised flute playing forever with an unorthodox style all his own, through albums such as “Aqualung” and “Thick as a Brick” in the 70's and 80's.
>
>“Ian Anderson was the my inspiration to learn the flute” says Remo, who then went on to develop a style of his own on the Indian bamboo bansuri. “Performing with Tull, who are my music heroes right from college days, is a secret dream come – one of those dreams one never dares to voice, for fear of it sounding too far-fetched and presumptuous.”
>
>Remo, who is in correspondence with Anderson through email, reports that Jethro Tull are presently busy learning a few of his songs for the concert, including ‘Flute Kick’, ‘Maria Pita Che’, ‘Maya Ya’, ‘O Meri Munni’ and ‘Bombay City’. “I can’t wait to hear what these songs, specially the Goan and Daman folk tunes, will sound like when backed by Jethro Tull.” says Remo. “We’ll be having special rehearsals in Dubai before the concert to work them out.”
>
>Remo will also be jamming in on some Tull classics such as “Mother Goose”, “Up To Me” and of course the all time favourite “Locomotive Breath”.
>
>The concert is scheduled for 10th February 2005 at Hotel Le Meridien, Dubai, UAE.

>ADDITIONAL INFO
>
>We were initially supposed to jam on just one of my songs, 'Flute Kick', and I was asked to send that track to Anderson. After he heard it, he sent me an email and expressed a desire to hear more of my music. So I chose those of my songs which I felt reflected and represented the real me, i.e. my own compositions and folk songs from my place of origin - I intentionally avoided sending my Bollywood songs. From the ones I sent he chose almost all, and wrote back saying he'd like his band to learn five [instead of one] of my songs so that we could jam on those. He also sent me a few of his which he'd like me to jam on, including 'Mother Goose', 'Up to me', and of course the all-time favourite 'Locomotive Breath', which we'll be singing together
