Hi,
I just joined this group. I really love the idea of a himalayan travel
club. I visit the himalayas as often as possible. Just moved back to
Delhi after a few years down south so I look forward to annual
trekking trips to Himalayas. Hope members will post any such plans
which are open to others. I have done a couple of easy treks in the
himalayas... gangotri to gaumukh and one to valley of flowers. I would
love to do a longer trek next summer... if anyone has plans please do
post them.
Also can the moderator of the group please change the settings so that
the group doesn't get spam. You can do this by allowing only members
to post and screning membership.
Thanks and Regards
Tushit
Hi everyone,
Looking for a bike buddy to travel around. I am well read, with good sense of
humor - survived as an abstract painter, photographer, spoke on gita to large
crowed and recently finished making a film. Yeah, a male 33, brokeass New
York based film maker at the moment.
To restore my sanity, I am planning to take a bike trip in India - the idea is
to
go to India, get a back pack and a bike and get lost somewhere - I am very
easy going person. I don't do drugs nor smoke - occassional drinker. I don't
mind you doing anything though. I would be happy to find someone (or more)
who might want to tag along with me. If you are already a member of a group
that goes around on bikes or trekking, I might join you.
Please let me know about you. I might be willing to take care of the expenses
for good company :) THIS might turn out to be one of the best trips of your
lives ever :)
Please drop me a line about you at: exp_newyork@...
ps: I am not looking for any physical or emotional relationship. Only simple,
wholesome friendship..
I am sorry I am a lot irregular with my posts here. Actually I travel
a lot and in course of my irregular schedules get no time to check my
mails.
Let me know if you have any more queries

Sorry for the late reply. I had suggest a trek to the Hatu peak at Narkanda which is 64 km from Shimla. There are a couple of hotels at Narkanda. You can make a overnight stop there and then do this trek. Its a 15 km trek but worth all the travelling. The same evening you can be back in Shimla from Narkanda. Hope this helps.
If time is not a constraint. trying reaching the Jalori Pass from Shimla side. It would be Shimla to Ani on day one. Stay at the forest rest house there and the second day Ani to Jalori Pass by a morning bus at 8 am. If you miss this one you are stuck for the day. Once at Jallori you can do a trek to Sarolsar lake which is approx 10 km. The trek is mind bogglling. Carry a raincoat as it some times drizzle down on the top even in this season. From Jallori you will have to come down to Shoja or Banjar in Kullu for the night stay.

I started the group after travelling to Leh and trekking from Spiti to Leh. The purpose of the group is for discussions for travelling info for trekkers and sharing itinaries. I trekked from Kaza to Leh via Tsmoru Lake and later biked across the Spiti valley to Leh and came back from Srinagar, Jammu to Shimla. It was some great journeys and now I somehow want to trek, bike in Tibet some day.

Thank you members for joining the group. Well, I just changed the name of the group to more appropriate, "Himalayan Travel Club". Please update your bookmarks to this effect. You will also receive an email notifying about the change.
In case there are people who need to compare travel plans or have any other queries do post on the MB. I also offer travel guide services. I am not into full time in it,.. Just from July - September. That's the time when I pack my travel bags too.. This year I worked with groups from Spain and Portugal involving travel to Kinnaur, Lahaul, Spiti and finally to Leh..!!
