RE: [hydrologymodel] (s.w.l) and (d.w.l)

It actually refers to the static head versus the kinematic head. The
static head is the pressure head given no velocity head the dynamic head
includes the velocity head.

http://www.airflow.co.uk/pdfs/telescopic_pitot_static_tube_operating_ins
tructions.pdf

In the diagram you can see the static head is measured by small ports on
the side of the pitot tube. The dynamic head is measured at the tip of
the tube getting the full impact of the flow. Using a manometer you can
determine the difference or just the velocity head. It basically refers
to the measurement of flow in the pipe or duct.

Subject: RE: [hydrologymodel] (s.w.l) and (d.w.l)

Dear All;

It is obvious from its name the difference between the STATIC WATER
LEVEL
and DYNAMIC WATER LEVEL. and clearly the difference is as follow;

STATIC WATER LEVEL: Measuring the water level without any pump stress in
the
nearby area (surounding area).

DYNAMIC WATER LEVEL is when measuring the water level with operating
pumping
existance close to the measuring point.

I hope this simple definition is satisfy.

Best regards

Ashraf
