Re: [hydrologymodel] Effective rainfall calculation

I am a practicing hydrologist.A similar situation I too tackled .One Kanhan
river basin is situated adjoining to Pench river basin.Hydrologically similar
catchments. I could make use of the data available for pench basin to work out
the run off of Kanhan basin.
One project of interest was Bhatsai project near Mumbai. The catchment area is
about 400Sq.kms.There were good record in respect of 12 rain gauges. There was on
rain gauge on d/s of catchment in respect of which 100 year rain fall data was
available.I could generate the effective rain fall over Bhatsai catchment by
using double mass curve analysis. You please refer Applied Hydrology by Liunseley
Kohler and Paulhus page433 on words.

Dear all,
I am doing research on stream flow prediction in
ungauged basin and I have developed a small computer
model for surface runoff predictions using GIS. For
that I need to add some method for calculating the
effective rainfall in ungauged basins. . Can anybody
give some advice on this? I need to calculate
effective rainfall from continuous record of observed
rainfall time series. The method should not be an
event type method. Is there any continuous method for
estimating effective rainfall in ungauged basins?
I expect your help on these regards,

tahnking you,

Hunu
