The Organizing Committee of the Malaysian World Water
Day 2007 is glad to announce to, and invite, you to
the World Day Water Seminar 2007 which will be held on
April 15-16 at Grand Continental Hotel, Kuala
Trengganu, Trengganu, Malaysia. Participation and
papers for presentation are now open for registration.

The theme of the decade is "Coping with Water
Scarcity."

Objectives of the seminar
================

The seminar aims at providing a forum for a healthy
and exciting exchange of ideas and experience in areas
related to the issue. The sub-issues discussed include
latest technological results, research findings,
state-of-art information between relevant stakeholders
in the field. Its main objective is to promote:

- strategies and programmes for integrated river
basin, watershed and groundwater management;
- measures to improve the efficiency of water use, to
reduce losses and to increase recycling of water in a
way that gives priority to the satisfaction of basic
human needs while preserving or restoring ecosystems
and their functions;
- programmes for mitigating the effects of extreme
water-related events;
- diffusion of technologies and capacity building for
non-conventional water resources and conservation
technologies to developing countries and regions
facing water scarcity conditions or subject to drought
and desertification.


The seminar aims to attract papers on various aspects
of the issue particularly

- planning and policy;
- research and development;
- capacity building; and
- communication and education.


Participation
=======

Participation is open to engineers, researchers, and
public concerned with water-related disciplines and
the public.

The fee is as follows:

MANCID member: RM 350
Non Member: RM 380

This conference fee is non-refundable and does not
include accommodation. However, replacement is
allowed.

The fee will be waived for paper presenters.
