Geological, Seismological, Geomorphological, Remote Sensing & GIS
Applications

September 27-28, 2007

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

-Introduction on free resources on geological/ remote sensing/ GIS
mapping related softwares.

- USGS softwares: 3 DEM.
- MICRODEM for Geology and GIS applications.

- Introduction to various formats of databases

- Use of databases in different applications (Geology,
Seismology, Geomorphology and Remote Sensing).

-Introduction to free data downloads for various geological,
seismological, geomorphological and remote sensing applications.

-Application of GTOPO30, ETOPO, SRTM, and Land sat, ASTER, TRMM data
using above softwares.

-Use of above data in ERDAS and Arc View or Arc GIS. Lab Work and
Hands on the above Softwares in areas of individual research studies

-Introduction to NASA sites for Land Cover, Geomorphological
applications.

-Use of NASA softwares in global geological and climatic
applications.
