Dear Tejaswi,
Here you find a summary of contouring using SURFER:
1. From the main menue go to map- base map and view the boundary map it could be
image format, DXF, BLN
2. If the format of the map is not BLN, you have to digitize your map to make
new boundary file as BLN format.
3. From the main menu choose grid to make the interpolation for (x, y, Z or
water level or chloride etc. )
4. In order to view the ontours only inside the boundary line you have to blank
the grid file.
5. be sure that your the number in the bln file in the first row the second
column is zero.
6. from the Grid - go to blank
7. follow the instruction. After that you will have new grid file blanked.
8. go to the map submenu and view the contour line.
i hope this will help.
regards
Khalid

contour maps (for an area with closed boundary like the boundary of a river
basin or a watershed) using Surfer? Thanks in advance.
