Subodh:
For agricultural applications, I would suggest trying DRAINMOD. For
further information, you should contact the Biological & Agricultural
Engineering department at NC State University.
Best wishes,

Subject: [hydrologymodel] Request for a guidance on subsurface lateral
water flow modelling
Dear group Members,
I want to model the subsurface lateral flow of water in a field which
has a shallow hardpan at about 100m depth that restricts the vertical
flow of water. That is why subsurface lateral flow is regarded as the
most important mechanism of nitrate and pesticides transport from the
area. in my field 90 wells( 4inches diameter and 39 inches length
pipes) were installed diverging in 9 straight lines from the northeast
corner of a 10 acre field. In three of the fields on the corner I
injected KBr and collected the water samples for next 6 weeks daily
for first week and once a week during following weeks. I also recorded
the water table in the wells in alternate days. Now I want to know if
I can use visual Modflow to model the water flow or there is any other
model more applicable. I will also have bulk density and saturated
hydraulic conductivity data for upto 90cm depth in the field.
Your valuable ideas will be highly appreciated.
Thank you
