Hello
Actually, the base of the USLE is entirely empirical. From my little knowledge
in this field, I can advice you to consulate the R-USLE database I think it is
available online, and check your soil whether they did for similar soil or not;
or if you have access to the field or rainfall simulator ( Lab or field type)
you can conduct some experiments to get the soil loss ratio and then estimate
the K-factor. Also, you can drive these parameters from your sediments data, if
you have.
Please remember that USLE factors are scale dependents try to decide which
scale and slope conditions you would like to study, and then decide your plot
dimensions.
About the literature, this field has a very long history just imagine; the
first model for soil erosion was developed by Neal(1938). So, I recommend you to
check this book for all references before 1996: Soil erosion Conservation and
rehabilitation; edited by M. Agassi, or/and Morgan by the same title.
I hope you can get benefits from my opinions, sorry if my ideas are not well
organize
All the best
Cheers,

Dear George Papaioannou
Hello
In fact, little numbers of studies have been conducted in field of erodibility
factor of K for geologic formation, since it is basically for soils. I just can
address you to one of my recently published paper in this regards ( Vaezi, A.R.,
Sadeghi, S.H.R., Bahrami, H.A. and Mahdian M.H., 2008, Modeling the USLE
K-factor for calcareous soils in northwestern Iran, Geomorphology,
97(3-4):414-423.Secondly, some of my colleagues have tried to do so, but they
mainly focused on quaternary formations. I will also let you know in case of
finding any new in due course.
Best Wishes

Hello to everybody. I am doing my master project and i have a little
problem. In the Universal soil loss equation there is a factor K . In
my area i have Gneiss , Granite and hard limestone (marble).I would
appreciate if someone can send me a table with the K factor for the
upper geological conditions. It is important for me to have the
biography , so please if you can include the article i would be
thankful. By the way, this forums is doing terrific job. I want to
thanks all the professors and the other members of the forum for their
selfless help. With respect George Papaioannou. Greece
