simulation of unconfined conditions with Feflow   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #602 of 727 |
Hi!

I am trying to simulate an unconfined aquifer in Feflow. The model is delineated
by a river divide to the east (impermeable to flow) and reaches a riverbank to
the west (the river level fluctuates periodically). Additionally, recharge by
precipitation occurs from the surface.

Currently, it is known that at the site the groundwater flow has reached steady
state. The groundwater table is fairly shallow, less than 1 m deep.

However, I have not been able to control the saturation of
the aquifer during the simulations. I always reach full saturation, both at
steady  or transient state, after a certain period of time.

Overall, the fully saturated model describes fairly well the water flow regime
in the area. However, full saturation does not reflect the real situation.

Any sugestions to adjust the model in order to get unsaturated conditions ?

Thank you !!

Do you represent ET in your model ? Thanks, Prashanth Khambhammettu...

Thank you for your answer!   I am using Feflow 5.1 and I can only input the groundwater recharge as a result of the infiltration and evapo-transpiration...
