RE: [hydrologymodel] Need Help - WATEQ4F

Dear Tejaswi,

Another suggestion:

When I use PHREEQCI, I usually choose one of the examples that come with the
software, and just change the values from my own data set. This makes it
considerably easier than retyping everything.

Good luck,

Luis

Dear Luis,

Thanks for clearing my doubts reg WATEQ4F. I shall accept your suggestion of
a density input value of 1 gm/cc since all my water samples are continental
groundwaters. Also, I shall have a look at the books you have suggested.

Thanks and regards,
Tejaswi

Tejaswi,

Eh will not be important for the dissolution/ precipitation of calcite or
fluorite. You can look up an average value from a textbook such as The
Geochemistry of Natural Waters by Drever, or Water Chemistry by Stumm and
Morgan. If your water is continental groundwater, you can assume a density
of 1.0 g/cm3. Is a good assumption.

The model I have used is a more recent version, PHREEQCI, which has a
friendly user interface that makes it easier to input the data.

Best,

Luis E Marin

Dear Members,

I have recently downloaded the WATEQ4F software and I primarily intend to
calculate the Saturation Indices of some minerals, especially that of
calcite and fluorite.

I have the following doubts;

1) I dont have (not calculated) Eh values for my ground water samples. So,
what should be the iTenput value in Eh column? Whether it should be 0 or 9?

2) I have not measured the density of my water samples? So, what value
should I input under the Density column?

3) What should be the input value for Ehopt 1 to Ehopt 9? I dont have these
values?

Kindly help.

Thanks and regards;
Tejaswi
