Perhaps floating islands made from plastic barrels, bottles and
styrofoam could not only be used to distill seawater but could collect
rainfall. Richard Sowa is building an island from plastic bottles in
Mexico, the Flying Neutrinos are building ocean going rafts from
styrofoam and I am building a raft factory on the Mississippi river
using plastic barrels. The islands are cheap to build and are virtually
unsinkable.
