Re: [iimapgpx200910] Re: Interview experience

80 out of 350. I would assume 30-40 people in 350 may not prefer IIM-A and go to US institutes etc. This may cut down the battle to 80 out of 310. Which can be roughly assumed as 1 in 3 will get selected. This is not a bad selection ratio. It can be safely assumed that if we did 2 out of following 3 things wrong then we can count ourseleves out.

1 -- High GMAT (atleast 700)
2 -- High work experience (around 10 years)
3 -- U felt like u could not handle even 50% of their questions after walking out of the interview. U did not know about Stalin, Socretes, Lenin etc, U could contain them in Financial sector, U were made to believe that u better wake up.
This implies folks having 2 out of above 3 things should start working on finances.

My 2 cents.

Hi,

I may not be able to share the exact quote. But it was about relation
between two unrelated things. Quotes varied from person to person.

Yes. 3 mins was too short of time. When I exceeded, profs, politely asked me to conclude the presentation. My presentation was about how I
handled a operational crisis at my workplace ( I am from manufacturing
background).

The no of seats will be 80 only. Since IIMA is expanding their PGP
course, they are not in a position to expand the class this year. Mr.
Alok Jain of IIMA confirmed this.He also told that total no. of
applicants is 1400+.

The no. of candidates called for interview is about 350.(Someone in
pagalguy.com quoted this figure)

Bye

Were you able to manage your presentation in 3 mints. 3 mints is too
short of a time, one can hardly describe the problem let alone the
solution. If you dont mind, what did you pick as the presentation
topic?
