I had sent the same query to IIM-A pgpx ADCOM - they said they are fine with you not submitting the AWA score. However, the scores should reach them sometime "soon". They emphasize this because sometime GMAC takes longer than usual time in sending across scrores. So, it would not be overburdening if you ask the PGPX office whether they have received the score or not approximately 16-17 days after you took the GMAT.   And now something I would like to share. I took my GMAT on 21-July. Score is nothing I want to talk about.
