Shiksha Bachhao Andolan Samiti
Sanatan Dharm Sabha, S. Block, Greater Kailash, Part-II, New Delhi-110048

Press Release
Siksha Bachao Andolan Condemns Government's move to deprive Prof. J.S.
Rajput of UNESCO award.
NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 2, 2004:
The Shameless Manmohan Singh Government, Working under the dictates of
Stalinists, has disgraced india by moving surreptitiously to deprive
Prof. J.S. Rajput, the world famous educationist and former NCERT
Director, of the Jan Amos Comenius Award, the highest recognition
given by UNESCO to a person in the field of education.

The Director of International Board of Education , The Wing of UNESCO
dealing with such matters, Ms. Cecilia Braslavasky, has in a personal
letter to Prof. Rajput dated August, 24, expressed her personal and
UNESCO's regrets at the Government of india's move to scuttle the
award. The letter said :

"Most unfortunately, however, we have recently been informed of an
ongoing enquiry process concerning certain activities during your tenure
as Director of NCERT. Even though this fact would never put into
question your merits in Regards to your life-long career as educator,
the Jury has decided to keep the Decision of awarding the Comenius
Medal to you in abeyance, untill the completion of the Enquiry
report. I would like to express my deepest consideration and apologize
for this regrettable Situation."

Siksha Bachao Andolan, a movement of nationalist-minded scholars,
Educators, intellectuals and other professionals, has been watching with
horror the unfolding mess in the eucational system brought about by
HRD. Minister Arjun Singh and his Communist backers. The combine is
trying to falsify indian and world history as taught to school
children, pandering to fundamentalists, victimizing professional like
Prof. Rajput.

But this is the lowest thing a Government can do against a citizen.
Prof. Rajput stands a model of excellence and modern vision before
india's teachers. The whole country is proud of the recognition
bestowed upon him by UNESCO. But instead of joining the nation in
congratulating Prof. Rajput, the HRD Minister, who is a slave to the
dictates of the Communists, has played a dirty trick on him.

The Charges against Prof. Rajput are baseless and unfounded. They were
designed to humiliate him for taking bold steps to reform the
national school curriculum. If an iota of truth was contained in the
charges, would the same Government have hesitated to prevent his
honorable retirement on July 13? But it was unable to make the
allegations Stick.

Now, Taking the UNESCO's award as a slap on its face, the Government
is trying to prolong his ordeal by harassing him though more and
more illegal inquiries. A parallell move to belittle Prof. Rajput's
achievement is made by planting stories in the friendly media that he
got this award as a "parting gift" by the former HRD minister, Dr.
Murli Manohar Joshi. This is nothing but defamation. The Press should
know that the Jury of UNESCO had vetted the recommendations made by
the governments of more than 180 United Nations Member countries
before selection Prof. Rajput. No individual government holds influence
enough to move the Jury.

Siksha Bachao Andolan Considers the suspension of the award by UNESCO
as nothing short of an insult to the nation. As a result of Shri
Arjun Singh's action, We indians look ridiculous in the global
community of nations for our ability to wash our dirty linen in
public.

Therefore, Siksha Bachao Andolan wans Shri Singh and his "Comrades"
that unless they withdraw their objections to UNESCO and restore Prof.
Rajput's honour by immediately withdrawing the false charges against
him, it will launch a nation - wide campaign of protest.

Dina Nath Batra
Convener

Aum Amriteswaryai Namah:

Hindu means 'Sanadhana Dharma'. Hinduism means to accept all religions. Dharma
is the aspects of God. A Hindu will never see any negatives in other religions,
as all other religions are occured from Hindu religion. When people are turning
from Dharma due to the MAYA of Materialism, GOD himself will incarnate to guide
him to the path of Dharma. After Shree Krishna and Sree Rama, now Goddess AMMA,
Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi has incarnated on this earth. If you get
Amma's divine darsan once in your life, you will experience the aspects of GOD.
Hence, you can experience Dharma.

If you need more information about Amma, please contact gopinath2001bh@...

Dear friend,

Hari Om. Pranams.

As this is my first message, please allow me to introduce myself. I
am a retired government official in India. Even while in service I
was engaged in research and publication. I am a senior Editor and
publisher by profession.
My mission in life is to be instrumental in spreading knowledge on
the Vedic spiritual and cultural heritage. I am convinced that the
entire humanity needs them and has a right to have them. With the
emphasis on universal oneness and harmony, this knowledge of Vedic
literature can immensely help the mankind live peacefully and
prosperously.
We have a moral obligation to share what we have inherited with
others who are in need of it.

I am actively engaged in projects of teaching and publishing
connected with Vedic literature, including allied works. I am
involved in the subjects of Vedic Astrology and Yoga also.
Naturally I am interested in knowing about the work of other scholars
and devotees and make a common cause wherever it means mutual
benefit.
My projects are not carried on with 'business' motive but I design
them to be self sustaining. I am not a very rich man to carry them on
entirely as a charitable proposition. They are all no-loss-no-profit
endeavors combined with 'service overtone'.
I am aware of various schools of thought competing with one another;
but my view is that all of them can co-exist and help mankind to
achieve material and spiritual welfare, if they do not miss to notice
the presence of the one and only common bond called differently by
different groups.
The following is a brief note on my new international English monthly
magazine, called Nitya Kalyan.
ooOOoo
Nitya Kalyan

We have a duty to mankind to share what we have inherited in the form
of rich Vedic and allied literature with all the people in the world.
This is best done by explaining them in English.
A new international English monthly magazine Nitya Kalyan is to be
published from Chennai. This magazine is committed to the spread of
knowledge of Indian cultural heritage and ancient wisdom. It is a
matter of urgent necessity that the ideas of universal oneness and
harmony enshrined in the Vedas and allied literature are explained in
English, to ensure the peace and prosperity of the mankind threatened
by several negative forces of the modern world. Nitya Kalyan is
committed to accomplish this.
This is a no-profit-no-loss effort. The first issue of Nitya Kalyan
will appear in the second week of September 2004.
Nitya Kalyan, the international English monthly magazine is dedicated
to integrate our happy day-to-day life with well defined purusharthas
viz., dharma, artha, kama and moksha, enshrined in our scriptures.
Nitya Kalyan stands for eternal happiness and also the means leading
to it.
Eternal happiness is not an idle dream that becomes real accidentally
to a select few. Vedic philosophy does not believe in any such silly
imagination. The foundation for the Vedic philosophy is the concept
of dharma that is, natural and value-based expression of self. A
serious student of the Vedic philosophy can never miss how result-
oriented the Vedic philosophy is. The Vedas belong to everybody,
irrespective of caste, creed or color. They are the inheritance of
all the living beings. The Vedic concepts may be studied and
appreciated by us through the various sastras, puranas, ithihasas and
countless other forms of literature.
The study and practice of these values are possible to one and all.
Even a villager without much formal education can understand and
adopt them. Our ancient systems ensured such percolation of knowledge
among all the categories of the people. With the weakening of our
ancient systems and adoption of western ways of life, this flow of
knowledge has been adversely affected. As a result, the value-based
life of our people is changing to mere mammon worship. Our ancient
system does not neglect any aspect of life, including wealth and
other normal pleasures of life. But they were strictly subordinated
to the dharma, so that the individual would not degenerate and become
a knave; so that, his kalyan would not be short-lived but would be
eternal.

very word NavigationEis derived from the Sanskrit word NAVGATIH.

08. The value of pi was first calculated by Budhayana, and he explained the

Quotes about India.

We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no
worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made.

Albert Einstein.

India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the
mother of history, the grandmother of legend and the great grand mother of
tradition.

Mark Twain.

If there is one place on the face of earth where all dreams of living men have
found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence,
it is India.

French scholar Romain Rolland.

India conquered and dominated China culturally for 20 centuries without ever
having to send a single soldier across her border.

Hu Shih.

(Former Chinese ambassador to USA)

ALL OF THE ABOVE IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG, THE LIST COULD BE ENDLESS. BUT,

if we dont see even a glimpse of that great India in the India that we see
today, it clearly means that we are not working up to our potential; and that if
we do, we could once again be an ever shining and inspiring country setting a
bright path for rest of the world to follow. I hope you enjoyed it and work
towards the welfare of INDIA.

Say proudly, I AM AN INDIAN.
