#  I am here in Pondicherry to attend & monitor the conference along with Dr. S.Mahanti, Scientist 'F', Vigyan Prasar.

 

#  This cnfrns. is organised by Indian S Assctn for SF Studies (IASFS) with the support of VP.

 

#  Dr. K. Purushothaman, President,IASFS & Dr. Srinarhari, Gen. Sectry, IASFS are the two enthusiastic persons who are leading this Association.

The Major objective of IASFS is to promote SF writing & reading in all the Indian languages.

 

#  Today was the first day of the above cnfrnc. Below are a few highlights about :

1. Prof. N. Kannam, VC of Vellore Univrsty inagurated the cnfrnc.

2. A book entitled "Understanding The Science Fiction" by Dr. Purushothaman & Dr. Srinarhari was released.

3. Prof. Balaswamy, Ex-Head, Eng. Deptt. Pondicherry Univrsty delivered his key note address.

4. Dr. Mahanti delivered his impressive lecture about the need of SF in Indian media.

5. I also presented my paper entitled "SF writing in Hindi : An Overview" (co-author Dr. Arvind Mishra).

6. Many enthusiastic participants of SF attended the conferns.

 

   Here the climate of Pondy is very pleasant & we are enjoying in simple shirt and paint. Here is still no need of sweter & all that. We saw the famous sea beach. Tomorrow we will see The Arobindo Ashram for which this place has fame.
