RE: [indiansciencefiction] American Magazine honoured Indian Puppeteer

It demonstrates that Puppetry in the hands of an Indian artist can display SF drama.
GREAT NEWS
It would be worthwhile knowing  if it is the first attempt to dramatize SF through puppetry.

If two opposite genres are combined to make an excellent architecture, then it is indeed a news headline. Puppetry is a very old traditional art, while Sci Fi is a modern concept. Now Banaras seminar presented these two fictions combined by arranging a puppet show of Mr. Arshad Umar & Party based on Sci Fi drama Buddha Future (Old Future). The report of that seminar is published in U.S. magazine Locus in its March-2009 issue. The magazine specially highlighted Mr. Arshad Umar & their puppets.

No. Last year, at least one Australian sf conference had a puppet show - that was after Arvind's Benaras show, though. ... -- <http://variety-sf.blogspot.com/>...
