As you've probably heard already, British writer Doris Lessing
is this year's winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. I think
for the international science fiction community this is a cause
for celebration too.

With her interest in science fiction and her occasional high-
quality ventures into science fiction and fantasy Doris Lessing
has contributed much to the acceptance of serious science fiction
writing. Also she is an shining example of cross-cultural influences
and creativity.

I intend to send Mrs. Lessing via Jan Hanford's Doring Lessing
homepage the congratulation of the international science fiction
