Today Raipur edition of Dainik Bhaskar has published the ground
reality of Jatropha production in Indian state Chhattisgarh.
According to this newspaper state authorities are accepting that it
is impossible to grow Jatropha without water. For higher production
irrigation is needed. I have already mentioned about this bare fact
many years back through this article.
Bare facts about poisonous Jatropha curcas.

Thousands of websites on internet are still claiming that Jatropha
can grow without any water and care. Not only in India but also in
other countries planners are fooling common people specially farmers
by saying it. Few months back Indian environ magazine Down To Earth
published eye opening report that proposed Jatropha plantation in
India will lead to drinking water crisis in coming future. Today
world needs human biodiesel i.e. food for increasing population.
Biodiesel for vehicles should be second priority. And when there are
hundreds of cheaper sources available then why we are focusing only
on Jatropha????
