Poisonous Jatropha; President Kalam’s Gift To India

Dear Dr. Rebello,
I am glad that by announcing your intentions to contest the election to the highest constitution post just 90 days ahead of the scheduled elections has tried to start democratic process, which couldn’t take of in view of “Flaws In Our Constitution” of indirect elections. The constitution was framed and ratified by members 90% of who were either illiterate or semi-literate and certainly knew nothing of management and technologies.

Indirect Elections only helped under qualified but well connected and corrupt or who were supported by the corrupt. Even in present times people almost entirely believe every thing Manmohan Singh and APJ Abdul Kalam say is good for India when in most cases it is otherwise.

There is no point in going in to the past when our two heads in Kalam and Manmohan are absolute disgrace.

Since you are a doctor you know very well that the first cells of brain to die are cells of wisdom and understanding that determines sense of proportion and the ability to distinguish between good and bad. This is precisely what had happened to Kalam and Manmohan Singh. Though memory cells are less complicated so their hard drive of their brains remains operational but software gets corrupted.

They are scared of open debates on development issues.

“Jatropha Fraud On Farmers; In the following one page document you can see that average yield projected for a new variety is 1000-1100 kg per hectares and farmers are paid Rs.5/- per kg. This is $110 per hectare in a year or $0.30 per hectare per day.”

At the end document also mentions “No bird and animal eats the plants,” assuming a car consumes 4 Kgs of Bio-diesel and a truck 60 liters, I have calculated a car will need 3 hectares to grow Jatropha plantation to fuel it and a truck 45 hectares of Jatropha Plantation. So 2 million cars in Delhi on conversion would need 8 million hectares of Jatropha plantation, which is 80,000 sq. kilometers or 50 times area of Delhi state- this is exactly the area of Punjab and Haryana together.

Four million trucks will need entire cultivable land to grow Jatropha Plantations and India may have to shift entire population to Australia or Africa.

To run all the vehicles registered in Delhi on bio-diesel on conversion, entire state of Rajasthan would come under Jatropha cultivation. No space will be left for humans and animals and their food and fodder may have to be imported from USA and other countries.

Even more stupid is their assumption that Jatopha plants doen’t consume and water when actually nursery schools teach children that all plants need water and air to grow.

Dry leaves and their dust could cause extreme ailments simply due to their acutely poisonous nature besides allergic reactions.

You can tell the Supreme Court that people like Kalam and Manmohan Singh who enter acquire apex constitution positions through back door without any debates for at least one year could turn out to be disaster in a democracy.

Kalam was in absolute Idiot zone when he urged farmers of Punjab during official visit to adopt Jatropha Cultivation where every inch of the state is dedicted to produce food for not just Punjab but contributes 70% to central pool for public distribution.

Your lawyer shall do the needful.

You have to work hard to prepare for the “Democratic Contest”. You can refer to my messages archived in so many yahoo groups.

For the time being The Supreme Court can direct The EC to introduce 12 months and six months registration period for any head of government and state or equivalent position.

But let me advise you the dirty fox manipulating idiot who introduced “Red Wheat” in India and co-conspirator of Ganga Cauvery Link project that is presently touted as River Link Project – MS Swaminathan must be networking to enter Rashtrapat Bhawan through back door.

I would urge you to target him and give him a tough fight. He is like a cancer cell that multiplies rapidly without detection until it is too late.

KRISHI BHAWAN : NEW DELHI

NEW JATROPHA VARIETY IDENTIEFIED FOR COMMERCIAL CULTIVATION
*****

NEW JATROPHA VARIETY MEANS MORE BIOFUEL

May 10, 2006: It is time to say Jatropha! The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has identified first ever Jatropha variety, SDAUJ I (Chatrapati) for commercial cultivation. The seeds of promising Jatropha variety SDAUJ I (Chatrapati) contain higher oil content. The seeds contain 49.2 per cent oil and the non-edible protein in defatted seed case is 47.8 per cent. The variety SDAUJ I (Chatrapati) give higher yield compare to other local and popular varieties.

Farmer can get an average yield of 1000-1100 kg per ha under rainfed conditions. It is recommended for the semi-arid and arid regions of Gujrat and Rajasthan. It is drought resistance and can be raised successfully in areas where annual rainfall is 300-500mm. The plant attains a height up to 8 feet and shows resistant to all major pests.

SDAUJ I (Chatrapati) is developed by Sardarkrushinagar based Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University (SDAU). The variety has been identified and recommended for release in Group Meet of All India Coordinated Research Project on Underutilised Crops held at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. At Regional Research Station, SDAU, crop improvement on Jatropha was initiated in late 90’s. Large number of collections was made from different part of India. These genotypes were evaluated in replicated trial and found that entry SDAUJ 1 (Chatrapati) performed well and recorded significantly highest yield over other local varieties. The oil analysis showed that the seeds of this genotype contain 47.8 per cent. The other parts of Jataropha i.e. leaves, roots and latex are also useful in traditional medicine. An alkaloid derived from Jatropha plant i.e. crucin shows anticancer properties.

Jatropha (Jatropha curcas) locally known as Ratanjot belongs to family Euphorbiaceae and shows resemblance with castor. In India about nine species are reported out of which Jatropha Curcus has economic value by virtue of oil present in its seed. The Govt. of India and Planning Commission are emphasizing on alternative fuels as a result the area under Jatropha is catching up. The oil finds many applications in various industries like soaps, illuminants and paints. With ever increasing demand and raising cost of fossil fuels, there is a need of alternative fuels. Out of 90 tree borne oil seeds, Jatropha is one of the important crop and it can be easily cultivated and not browsed by animals. Jatropha can be cultivated on any type of soils. ***
