Hello friends,
I am just writing this in case anyone knows how to boot a media from hard-drive which was actually in a CD or a DVD drive. I am asking this because i do not own a dvd but have a Debian DVD and need to install it, My friend has a DVD drive but if i install on His computer (to my HDD) i think it won't boot (The operating system) (PS: i have already tried this with a Knoppix 3.6 disk , i can get to the lilo but the kernal halts abnormally if i install knoppix with his computer onto my HDD and then boot from my comp.)
i think there should be way to make an image off the disk and then boot the image from 'a' bootloader. But i do not know any bootloader that supports booting from an image of a DISK.
If anyone can tell me ANYTHING related to this ,please help me.
PS: i wrote this in a hurry so it may contain many gramatical errors
Thank you for reading this,
Antar
