Re: help booting dvd's without using a dvd (Copying and all)

hi sorry for replying this late but my exams were going on..
anyway what you want is possible provided you have a lot of free disk
space...above 8 gb...4.3 for image of the DVD and rest for installation...
To create a iso image of DVD
dd if=/dev/dvd of=dvd.iso <if your current OS is linux>
check this link
http://people.etango.com/~awaite/blog/archives/000653.html

if you are on windows use any available software for iso image
creation. copy this image to your hard disk...

now visit this link to know install using this image..
http://thinkdigit.com/howto.html

since i havent done it myself so i wont be able to elaborate but still
you can always ask in case of any problem..

BTW is that core 3 DVD final release or some beta

asking this because i do not own a dvd but have a Debian DVD and need
to install it, My friend has a DVD drive but if i install on His
computer (to my HDD) i think it won't boot (The operating system) (PS:
i have already tried this with a Knoppix 3.6 disk , i can get to the
lilo but the kernal halts abnormally if i install knoppix with his
computer onto my HDD and then boot from my comp.)
