Hi Ali..
Welcome to linux..
Well we all have to make a start to go somewhere. Regarding Linux.
though you might find it difficult at first but soon (with some
time-spend ofcourse) you might find it even better than windows.
Regarding your questions.
>>Perl: Well i dont know anything about perl so cant say if it is
different in linux or not.
>>Linux & Windows on same PC: Yes it is possible with no difficulty.
rather as easy as two different editions of windows. If you don't
wanna install linux, you can use a live cd (i.e. running linux off a
bootable cd without making any changes to your HDD
>> CD Availability: Myself and some other members of this group will
be glad to provide you Linux distributions for the cost of blank cds.
If you are in chd or pkl, i can provide after June 3rd. as I am in
patiala right now.( alternately you can collect it from me from thapar
before 31st may, if that suits you)
Choice of which linux distribution to install depends on what you
wanna do with them. Various choices are: Fedora (aka Redhat) ,
Mandriva (previously Mandrake), Suse, Debian, Knoppix (live CD)
>>easy or difficult: As i said earlier it won't be easy in the
beginning. but we will be there to help you.
