yes, the world is not that bad that nobody will care.
actually with the advent of RHL 8.0 onwards, RHL decided to curtail the third party license products/plugins from its distribution. So, all these plugins have to be separately installed (actually these plugins are not ope source code and does not adhere to GPL).
Better use external modem. Internal modem is not a modem in real sense.

hey fellow linux users,
I am a rookie , got this group addy from LFU mag , ok my adventure with linux so farrr
*bought the RHL 9 Bible+3 cd ( by Christopher Negus )
* pc Stats > Via 800 , Asus mb , 124 mb , 20 gb hdd and conextant hsfi modem
* put the cd in rite away and I was on the way to installing , it was easy and fun , did the workstation install
* mounted my fat32 partitions( luckily I didn’t had any ntfs partitions- anywayz can ntfs b mounted and is it safe/stable ?)
now my problems.....
-> what the heck is this licence problem of playing mpeg on RH , where will I find the plug-in to play mp3
->its slowww, do I need to install more ram, when I lowered the resolutions to 640X800 it was much faster , and the onboard sis graphic cards takes away 16 mb from ram -so I am left with 112mb of ram , tweaked with the custom video memory settings -reduced it to 8 mb
-> the audio cd works fine , how the hell to change cd,the cd drive wont open :( , I tried unmounting the cdrom and it worked then , is it the rite way or am I doing something rong ?
-> ok the big problem was with my pci modem card , isn’t kudzu suppose to detect it ???
so went searching for the modem and landed up at linuaxant.com , by trial and error got the rite driver for my system ( first I tried the i686 version -it didn’t got installed ) i586 version rpm installed and works fine .but this driver is only limited to 14kbs speed , have to pay for the full fledged version , where can I find the drivers for freeeeeee
Looking fwd to ur comments and suggestion ….
