hi there
shell or terminal can be reached by pressing any of Ctrl+Alt+F1 to Ctrl+Alt+F6. to go back to the graphical mode press Ctrl+Alt+F7. Alternately shell in graphical mode can be achieved by Gnome/System/terminals and selecting any of the four ( Sorry i cant say if the path is correct coz i am not running linux at the moment. however it is somewhere near to it. Anyway if you still dont get it mail me n i will givw you exact path)

yes, the world is not that bad that nobody will care. actually with the advent of RHL 8.0 onwards, RHL decided to curtail the third party license...
