Dear Raghav,
This is not a problem but just a matter of looking at a wrong place.
When you install a kernel source, it does not change the kernel of
your system but opens up all of the source required to compile a new
kernel in /usr/src. When you view this directory you can see links
pointing to a directory similar to linux-2.6.9-22. Here you can find
the source code. In case you want to upgrade your kernel. You should
look for kernel-howto. If you still face problems do ask again.
