Hello
I have been planning that kind of a thing for a long time and have
been telling one of the hardware guys I know in Hyderabad to go for
it. But It is a slow process. There is a
big Computer sales and training business opportunity using Linux and
thin client solutions to schools and colleges (It would also be a
social service kind of thing because the software is free, hardware
cost least,administrator cost could be zero,downtime minimum,virus
threats nil etc,etc.).
And once the Linux lab is setup, it doesnt want much supervision. The
support organization should standardise on the hardware front like
using same components in all the clients, and also all the servers
should have same components so that school and himself will have less
work on the support front.
Kerala is ahead in all these things like they have setup 100 Linux
support centers across the state. Hope other states wakeup.
Cheers
