You have just given a disprin solution to the problem. Today its someone writing something in the calendar section, but tomorrow the same problem or worse can be faced in the database, files, polls, links sections also. There is no dearth of unscrupulous elements. What is required is moderator control over these sections like we have for the photos sections. About two years back moderator control over the photos section was not there. We were left with the choice of either closing the public access to it our keep strict vigilance over it as mischievous people uploaded mischievous pics. Then the moderator control was given over this section and it was a very useful and a welcome step.

Thanks for pointing it out. I have removed the appointment and have restricted the calendar access only to Moderator of the group.
This was totally Moderators Group so I didn't want to restrict it in anyway. Its sad to see the spam in this group even in the calendar.
