hello

each time we post a mail via yahoo ID to the group, yahoo corrupt the htlm codes and add points . in the url of images
exemple
this link

http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/8570/fallinginlove11qs5.gif

is transformed to

http://img380.imageshack..us/img380/8570/fallinginlove11qs5.gif

you can see after "imageshack" there is now  2 points instaed of only 1 and this break the link

i faced this problem everyday in many mails
i tried to post them different ways from the web or from outlook and it's the same problem

i also noticed this in some other groups who post also image each time one link is broken i edit the mail to see why and i noticed they also have these 2 points somewhere

i hope i explained well the problem can you help in anyway

thanks and regards

Hello Moderators,

I have some great news for you that you would love to share with your group members in case you have not already done that. J

If you were not able to get your desirable email address from Yahoo! that you had always wanted earlier; Yahoo! has brought to you a whole new ocean of email addresses to choose from, with its two new domains ymail.com and rocketmail.com.

Click here  to get your new desired email address that would work exactly like any yahoo mail and it is FREE of cost. Let your group members know about it before their desired email address is been taken away again by someone else.

If you want to create or join Yahoo! group with your new email addresses of these domain i.e. xyz@... or xyz@...; you will be prompted to create a new public profile with a screen name that will display for your communications on Group. Once you create your new profile, you will be taken back into the normal "join" or "start a group" flow.

For more information; please visit Yahoo! Groups Blog

Dear Jami

Thanx for this vital information. Indeed in the past I have faced situations where some spammer joined my group and started immediately spamming and I could not ban him as his membership details were not being shown in the members list. Its a welcome change.

As a new group member, as well as moderator, I'm getting invitations to
join groups I have never heard of. Is there an automatic "invite
members of similar groups" feature in Yahoo Groups? This could be the
rereason for requests for membership.

Help! I just started a group two hours ago, I've got members already
joining, and I can't control the membership! My group settings are as
follows:

Group Settings
Membership requires approval
Messages from new members require approval
All members can post messages
Email attachments are permitted
Members can hide email address
Listed in directory

Why are some members simply adding themselves through the web without
my approval? How do I fix this?

This is more than a case of promotion. Today we heard from a person who
said they were linked to our group from a veterinary site in Kentucky!
We are a Macintosh users group in Washington, DC. We're still receiving
nearly a dozen requests to join from folks have no interest in what we
do. They appear to be misdirected to us somehow. We're tying to go
though Yahoo tech support to find out why this is happening. Has anyone
had any luck using it?

I am also seeing a lot of new membership requests these days. I was
thinking it is due to some promotion Yahoogroups is doing for few
selected groups.

After accepting these members, I have not yet seen any spamming
attempts, but a few of them have left the group after couple of days.

Have other moderators observer this thing ?

Dear friends,

I am also facing similar problems.  However, I found a small solution for it. Go to the groups home page.  Click 'members'. In the list of members, find out the moderators who should be intimated if there is a pending message identified as possible spam.  Tick in the option, 'Notify this moderator when there are pending messages which have been identified as possible spam'.  So, now you will get notification if there is a message identified as possible spam and you can approve the message.

Regards,
Subodh

Be careful.  I'm not accusing this particular person, but these requests are frequently from people that are seeing access to closed Groups in order to send SPAM.

Alicia Warne is one and now alice bingham

It never seems to matter to Yahoo when I report them complete with

Do you mean all the Yahoo ID's that Yahoo has?  I doubt if this would be allowed...

My groups were started because there's already a group of people who  a need to communicate.  If you want to promote your cause/business, perhaps one way would be to create your own web site that also connects with your Yahoo group.  You can promote the web site with Yahoo and Google (and other means), and thus generate a group who want to communicate about the topic via the Yahoo group.

Best of luck,

Gloria
