MUMBAI: Minister of State for Home Nawab Malik has demanded a ban on
the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal for their alleged
role in provoking communal tension in Gujarat.
If peace has to be restored in Gujarat, Prime Minister Atal Behari
Vajpayee should inititate action against these organisations who have
fuelled a divide between two communities, Malik said.
MR.Malik is an NCP Leader
He was reacting to a statement made by Union minister for consumer
affairs food and public distribution, Shanta Kumar, who has accused
the VHP and the Dal of creating havoc and destroying the very fabric
of the nation.
Kumar also blamed the VHP for the BJP's debacle in the recently-held
state assembly elections. ``It is clear from Mr Kumar's statement
that VHP aims to politicise the killings in Gujrat and so it is the
moral responsibility of the PM to ban these two communal bodies,''
Mailk said.
