MUMBAI: The Vilasrao Deshmukh-led Democratic Front government in
Maharashtra was on Tuesday reduced to minority with four NCP MLAs and
two independents withdrawing support to it.
The four MLAs, who met the Governor Dr P C Alexander at Raj Bhavan,
told reporters that they had handed over a letter of withdrawal of
support.
Reacting to the withdrawal of support, Chief Minister Vilasrao
Deshmukh said "they should have submitted their letters of withdrawal
to the Speaker of the House and not to the governor."
