Dont go by the years... Please do not make it the basis of your
outcome.. I think you are unaware of the fact that Bandini was
started much earlier to Kabuliwala and Parakh, but since Nutan was
pragnent, Bimal da dropped the idea and started other films as he
wanted to complete Bandini with Nutan and Nutan only..(thats how a
Nutan like sadhna appeared in his films during those days)

Gulzar's first song has been one of the hottest topics on all the
forums that I have participated in last 9 years on different internet
forums from RMIM to SKS.. Infact a few newspaper reporters (atleast 5)
approached me to find out the truth in last 7 years (since the
inception of gulzaronline.com).. We had a lengthy face2face discussion
with Gulzar saab when I organised Gulzarfans meet at his home.. He
told us the stories of his earlier part of career, when he used to
stay at Kunwar Lodge with a few struggler friends like SM Abbas and
Pradeep Nayyar (where these two were in the film making and were
making some stunt films in late 50s/early 60s) .. So when they used to
be together at Kunwar Lodge and Gulzar saab also staying with them, he
used to take part in various discussions and shooting. That was the
time when he did put his hands on a few songs (like for Shreeman
Satyawadi, Gulshan Bawra ji was the main lyricist, and Gulzar saab
used to participate in the sittings ).. A few songs he mentioned
where Gulshan Bawra ji penned the mukhada or one of the Antara and
improvised by Gulzar saab.. He never wanted to have the credits but
his friends put his name in the film credits.. He says that I count
those songs as "Haath lagana" rather than "Likhna". He said I never
denied writing parts of those songs, but I would not like to count
those songs as MY Songs..

I think every big star/personality does tend to hide some such work
done as a compromise during struggle .. like Amitabh Bachchan,
nobody questions him when he says my first film was "saat hindustani",
where the fact was his first shot was for "Shakesperewala" as an
extra.. and when Shashi Kapoor saw him after the shot (doing an
extra, shashi was the hero), he sent him out of the studios.. or as we
discussed yesterday about Gracy singh who still tells "Lagaan" was her
first film (while it was Hututu)... Actually the topic of Gulzar
saab's first song born only after Hamraaz saab's Hindi Film Geet
Kosh.. Since then it is a hot topic for various people.. They are not
willing to find facts, but would like to enjoy the controversy..
