From: kutchscience@...
Dear Friends of Archaeology, History, Science and Astronomy,

Government has funded for the few of the tourist archaeological places like
Dwarika, Bindu sarowar, AMBAJI and NARAUAN SAROWAR of the KUTCH. Also some of
the archaeological places are under the projects of renovation of those places
like SUNTEMPLE OF KANTHKOT, BHUVADESHWAR SHIVA temple of BHUVAD build by the
king BHUVAD CHAVADA. (will be discussed in next mail topic)

KOTAY SHIVA TEMPLE(KOTAY temple is not the SUN TEMPLE ) is near completion. Here
is just few sample demonstrations about the KANTHKOT SUN TEMPLE stones
collapsed all over and the process of sorting the stones of the sun temple so
that can be re arranged to form the sun temple as it was before as it looks in
old picture taken 50 years ago. Stones marked “S” is for SHIKHAR- TOP of temple
-TOMB, Stones marked “B” is for BASE of temple, Stones marked “R” is for RIGHT
side of the temple,

Recently we just had A TOTAL SOLAR on Friday 1 August 2008þ; Hope every one
might have enjoyed it though it was only a partial eclipse in INDIA. but was a
good exercise for the forth coming TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE next year on 22 JULY
2009. it is so simple to predict with the OUR ancient lunar calendar systems. IS
IT DIFFICULT to understand? Just see the details below.

And actually that’s the beauty of Indian calendar system that the eclipse will
follow exactly after complete 12 LUNAR MONTHS on AMAVSHYA of twelfth month from
the previous solar eclipse. But western calendar never understand the fact as it
has no connection with the MOON.

Next year 2009 is to be celebrated as an International ASTRONOMY year and as
Total solar eclipse is in 2009 and passing through the middle of the India
crossing tropic of CANCER, all Astronomers from the all over the world will be
in India to celebrate the INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMY year as well as TOAL SOLAR
ECLIPSE in INDIA.

Since we had Venus transit activity in India we are waiting for another golden
opportunity of Total eclipse locally passing through the middle of India and
Indian continental region. That will give the maximum advantage to study for Sun
Eclipse to the maximum Local people of India and from all over the world to come
to India.
Since it has starting point @ SE region of Saurashtra around Bhavnagar and
Mahuva beach area and crossing south Gujarat - Surat and MP, UP, Bangol and
Assam it will give advantage to people around to study the phenomenon locally at
their own home place. we encourage local people, schools and science institutes
to participate and share their knowledge and experience during this time and
give and take maximum benefit of the study of the SUN Eclipse study opportunity.
Luckily both the place Bhavnagar and Surat of Gujarat have Science teaching
institutes and university. we encourage people from the concerned department
come forward and start an astronomical activity in and advance to create
interest in local people and students. so bye the time they are well aware of
the importance of the Astronomical phenomenon and train them for the study of
the subject.

Click on a location on the map and see the solar eclipse at this location.
The following maps are directly linked to our astronomical online software
CalSKY and show the maximum eclipse phase for the solar eclipse you have
selected. Furthermore, the local circumstances are listed as well (attention:
times in Universal Time, UTC/GMT, if not otherwise noted). The icon shows an
example of what to expect.
